barqhead - 2007-12-11 1:20 PM Hey, Beth! I just checked the reindeer thread. Dope! I hope you had a good swim. I'm not sure about the drill you mentioned. But if it works your stroke weakness, do it! Catch-up is also good for lengthening your stroke and gliding. I am all about efficiency. The less I have to work to move forward in the water, the better! OK. Back to the normal Nibbins chatter!

Catch up is also good for stroke balance as you become aware of any single arm stroke imbalances...

Ahh, the many benefits of catch up. It is a great drill!

If you guys keep this up, Sal's going to be all confused again when he stops by for his nightly visit

So we need to bring out the kilt, painted toe nails, fishnets, etc for Sal? Still waiting on that pic.

milaminute - 2007-12-11 1:30 PM OK, so I was looking around in the staging area... so basically, someone like me people who are evil and sneaky could potentially cheat and pre-post in the mentor threads there and just wait for the mentor of their choice to roll out??  (I was trying to understand what you guys meant about dandy randy posting early... if that's the case, I like him already!)

Yup thats what he did! He wanted me!

I have a killer version of single arm drills. Instead of leaving one arm outstretched, keep it against your side nestled into your hip. You want to talk about working balance and engaging your hips and core in your kick!

Just say cheesecake a couple of times.  For example:

Today I swam 450 meters because my two year old, who was the result of some great cheesecake, was not jiggy with the 800 meters I was supposed to swim.  Plus I got a late start because I had cheesecake for breakfast.  Later tonight I'm going to do some corework that involves cheesecake.

See?  That's the best way to throw him off track when you're trying to actually talk about training.

Ohhhh, that sounds tough.  I will definitely try it the next time I go to the pool.  There has to be a next time, right?

D001 - 2007-12-11 12:41 PM Don't worry. When you organize the February Challenge, you'll pick up a LOT of stars.

do you want EVERYONE to run a challenge?

No... Just SOMEONE.

(You already said you weren't doing the January one. LOL)

I'm going to have to give that one a try

when I had my stroke evaluated in Jan, the coach said i had pretty good balance, my biggest issue is not extending my stroke as much as I should,  I'm probably not describing that quite right, but hopefully you know what I mean

Of course you do! You are always so positive when it is so easy to get sucked into the negative. I NEED that! And look at this discussion on swim drills. That and the mega 4000+ meter workout you did over the weekend.

LMAO - maybe we could have a TWISNIBBIN reunion team in a few months?

Of course, the twisnibbins have morphed so much. Do you go with the original or all the added team mates? I think all the added mates help make the twisnibbins really rock.

My theory --> They came here. They posted. They're now Nibbins.

How else are we going to get fresh meat new ideas?

So, I have a theory for the statistics minded among us (Dee? Heather?)

I think we post faster and more often when we are not W-I-D-E

theory being we can read and reply quicker?

thougths?

I'm sure it could be figured out, but I'd rather pad my post count, spend quality time chatting with my friends

Sure, faster and easier to read.

Also, not having to scroll saves wear and tear on your scroll hand. We don't want everyone getting carpal tunnel syndrome....

milaminute - 2007-12-11 1:30 PM OK, so I was looking around in the staging area... so basically, someone like me people who are evil and sneaky could potentially cheat and pre-post in the mentor threads there and just wait for the mentor of their choice to roll out??  (I was trying to understand what you guys meant about dandy randy posting early... if that's the case, I like him already!)

Yup thats what he did! He wanted me!

See he chose you when you weren't even official. Way to be wanted.

And Pam too... I was so worried I didnt have anything offer anyone!

Of course you do! You are always so positive when it is so easy to get sucked into the negative. I NEED that! And look at this discussion on swim drills. That and the mega 4000+ meter workout you did over the weekend.

You mean the two back to backs? yeah Pats not happy about that.... but he will be happy to hear Im not swimming today...

the sunstroke is catching up with me so Im taking today off!
