Can I just say that the process surprises me every once in a while?  I got home late after working and running the kids to stuff last night and thought, "I am just going to get a 30 minute treadmill walk in, it's better than nothing."

Well, 5 minutes in everything loosened up and the motivation came from nowhere and in the middle of my 30 minutes I actually got 15 minutes of run in covering 1.5 miles.  Not a great pace but the first 10 minute mile pace I have been able to maintain for an extended period of time.  That's a run half of race distance and the race isn't until June!

I am so glad I found this place!

wmcgee62 - 2011-01-19 9:28 PM 30 minute run with the dog, rolling hills a light snow falling temp 22 degrees. 2 weeks from today I will be in FL for an extended weekend. Plenty of Biking and running  planned. Cant wait.

Great time to be in FL. Temp for my run this morning was -5F, tomorrow morning it's supposed to be -15F with -25 to -30 windchill.

Was down in FL this past July, it was usually around 80 for my early morning run.

I was thinking of you folks in the MN/WI area. That cold is to be here tonight. So florida is looking great. How are you feeling?  Things getting better?

Ok, looks like a waste. If you don't pay the $18/year it doesn't count calories.

Lumber Dad - 2011-01-16 6:16 PM Living in the Wis, I don't have to wait till summer to race. I turn to skiing or snowshoeing to keep me motivated during the winter.

I have a 50K CC ski race scheduled for the end of February, it is a race that has been on my bucket list for a while now.
My skiing hasn't been going as good as I hoped so I might have to do the 23K race and wait a couple years before I attempt the 50K.

Lenny
This weekend you are about a month out from the race, still sticking with the 23k or are you going for it. If you are like me you will analyse it both ways. Depending on what day you catch me the answer will be different.  I could do(finish) the 300 mile ride right now but would be a wreck when I was done.
I got a 55 minute spinerval in and if I dont get called out for work get a run in tonight. Hoping to get the girlfriend to do a 15 to 20 min session with me.  Have a great night everyone.

Keep on plugging, everyone!  It is so motivating to hear all of your workouts, and how you're getting it done!  Great job!

Still waiting to see how the training goes before I make the switch to the 23K, I have till Feb 14th.

How about this, if the Packers win the Super Bowl I do the 50K?

Hi group!  Sorry I've been MIA for awhile.  Life got a bit crazy then I came down with a nasty cold.  Training had to get put on hold for a bit.  Feeling better now and ready to get back to work.

We've gotten a bunch of snow.  We went out snowshoeing this afternoon on some trails nearby.  Really nice and a good workout.

I have about 10 pages here to catch up on!

Got about 10 miles in this morning skiing, another below 0 morning. It would be nice to have some good skiing conditions for a change.

Sorry I've been MIA for the past week. Was feeling a bit in the dumps this past week. Did get most of my training in for the week but my diet hasn't been all that fantastic. I really need to get back into it starting this week.

If I'm going to be doing all these crazy races I really need go get focused on training. Also, I'm going to Mexico for a wedding on March and I'd like to lose about 16lbs before then so I can have a "beach body" lol.

The Bears have fallen... sort of felt all year like they were stealing from the candy jar without getting caught.  Packers fans, enjoy the moment!  Good luck!

On training, first "mini" brick of the year; 45min on the bike, 15min run directly after.  Felt pretty good.

Sorry folks, I have been MIA for a bit, family life is busy at the moment with 3 year old and wife being pregnant (woo hoo!). Anyway, I am still keeping up with 'some' training and just getting back to an official start for my tri training this week. Today I clocked a 6 km run at 6.40 am. I am sort of following a plan, but I think the plan I have seems kinda 'easy', I think the volume will pick up soon. I will have a bike ride tonight, I know the plan says 20 minutes, but I have ridden 40k rides before, so I will probably do 40 min of bike tonight! See ya!

I am dreading tomorrow morning, it will be a swim - I will try to flounder, I mean swim tomorrow, still looking for a local coach for swimming here.

BTW I have registered for a Bike Race (60K) in March and a short course tri early April. Cheers!

Sounds like a good plan. The bike race sounds cool. Think I might try a bike race after I get some of my running races out of the way again.

Oh what a week, everyone in my family came down with a bad cold/flu last week, daughter was the worse with 104 fever for 4 days. Personally, I was laid up Mon-Wed. Thought about forcing a workout Thursday and then made a decision to take the full week off. I have had a really good 11 week stretch of training and was starting to feel a little run down (especially mentally) and figured, how much of a setback could a week off be. I guess I will find out. I totally feel rested and am anxious to get in the pool today! Went to the Packer game yesterday and even though the second half was closer than I wish, it was a great day to be a Packer fan!

Probably a good idea to rest and not worry about a lost week.

That is so cool you made it to the Packer game. Sure hope Rogers does better in when he doesn't have to worry about the cold weather.

Weather and field really weren't a problem IMO, Rogers got shaken up by a hit in the 2nd quarter and then the Pepper's hit and it seemed that McCarthy took them out of their rythm with his play calling.

Good solid week of workouts. Would have liked to bike alittle more.  Good solid work outs in the gym. Good interval workout Monday on the track and 10 mile run this last weekend.  Things are starting to come around.  A few more weeks of base building and then the real training starts for IMWI.

Nice workouts. Wow, to be able to get a track workout in. Our track is covered in snow.
