Yeah all my swims are done at my community pool but I can't get to it till the evening and the air is cool. Being that I'm still getting over the cold i should probably wait a bit more. Actually I'm hoping by the 20th if possible. |

CONGRATULATIONS TO WHO'S YOUR MARMADADDY?! BUT remember that this is only the SECOND week of the challenge! January is only 41.9% completed. There's still time to help your team achieve that #1 ranking! So get out there and Swim/Bike/Run!... And then Swim/Bike/Run some more! Dee and Beth |

Extreme Veteran 322 Reston, VA | Subject: RE: Twisted Blisters II lyssa-gator - 2008-01-14 9:39 PM can someone link me the plan?? i'd love to jump in too, i really really really want to do a half mary this year, and if i do it with someone, i'll be more accountable. the longest i've ever run was 8-ish miles, and that was pretty much at my peak in like oct-nov. so i need to build up to that again i've never really looked at the plans here on bt, maybe i should start there, and go to rw.com too anyway, if someone has a link?? Hey Alyssa, here's the Hal Higdon Novice Plan. This one's not based on a previous race time (which was good for me because I've never done a stand-alone running race), so you just do all the runs at a "comfortable" pace. Personally, my goal is just to finish, so this one seems to fit the bill for me, but it's worth taking a look at both plans. Good Luck! P.S. I looked at the BT plan first, and I trust the coaches here to put together a great plan. For me, though, running 5-6 days/week isn't really feasible (yet). |

I think that I will add 15 to play it safely...especially now that I have my new bike to ride. Makes it a little harder to go pound the pavement with a bright shiny bike in the garage. ) Beth, what happens when a person does not meet their goals...or if a person goes over the amount they estimated for the challenge?...is there any penalties or rewards for the team for this? thanks....just trying to help the blisters reach the #1 spot.

sounds like the plan Karen...but not until tomorrow...I am actually loading my swim gear into my bag to go and are planning to go for a noon time swim....and then tonight I planned a short 2-3 mile run. Tomorrow is my day to bike to work again...and then this weekend so I can ride then...plus this weekend we are meeting our daughter in Bakersfield (five hours from here) for a mountain bike race and are planning on doing road ride the following day. We all just bought new bikes (my daughter got her brand new Trek last night) so we will be looking good and probably blinding anyone that comes near us with our new and shiny bikes and components!! WAY TO UP YOUR MILEAGE KAREN...you inspired me to do the same...! |
