Sorry about the drive by earlier w/o saying hello but I was shocked that someone thought (I will learn how to type next week) cycling was evil

Hope everyone is having a good day - I am - 4 day weekend this weekend, my daughter is in Guys n Dolls jr tonight - I have a triathlon Sunday - I don't have to work in the kitchen - Tell me to stop anytime now!

We meant evil in the most delightful way .  Trust me, I loooooove to ride my pretty bike so much that it's, uhhh, pretty much all I do.

Sounds like a fabulous weekend on tap!

Yes!  Being bad is fun, and it's better to get your kicks in on a bike!

At least he gave you more than a day's notice.   What sucks is trying to find subs, now that kids are moving back to college.   You would think that he would've realized that you're a mom (hasn't he figured out WHY you're at the swim meets) and your kids aren't back in yet.

Good Luck!!!

LOL. He was like"What do you want to do?" I told him I didn't want to work that day and I want to find a sub if he could please give me a list. He told me he thought everyone was in the same boat and nobody wanted to work that day. So I told him I could work from 9-11 if someone could cover me for an hour. I can't help it that Meet the Teacher is scheduled during the daytime. I don't know how parents who "really" work do it. I felt bad for bailing on the first day of work since he didn't assign me anything over the summer. He felt bad for it taking this long to get the schedule out. I think he's really had to scramble as many of my co-workers weren't planning on guarding during the school year this year. I will be gone as well after the first of the year for IM training. So I'm not complaining that he gave me three days a week instead of the two I worked last year.

At least out here it's an all day affair... something like 10:30 to 7:30 the teachers are there to meet and great parents on a "open house" basis.  For those of us with kinder's we have to schedule testing as well.
I know these next few weeks all too well.... one year we forgot and didn't schedule our outdoor pool for modified hours after the high schools took in....  yep, the pool manager ended up on the stand A LOT that summer, and I found myself hanging out in the concessions for several shifts

injury update....
Some of you may recall a while back I posted how hubby crashed on the RxR tracks... well, I FINALLY convinced him to see someone (even if it meant actually scheduling an appt - heavens forbid)... So he calls the ortho's office, they tell him one of the docs is in surgery, so hubby tracks him down at work (hubby NEVER sees a doc in the office - well, maybe for some procedures)...  So the doc asks for MRI and tells hubby to have Rad Doc call when she reads it... so he tracks down his boss (cause once again, heavens forbid you should actually get an order for it) to okay MRI... so his buddy (who is an avid cyclist and mtn bike racer) does the MRI...
Preliminary is.... torn supraspinatus, possible avulsion on humerus, and definitely majorly bruised bone... Now we've got to wait for the actual Rad Doc to read it tomorrow, I just hope it isn't torn bad enough for surgery...

WORST news of this means, that I suppose I should step up and be a real wife and mother and do things like haul the laundry around, bath the boys (well at least the little one), and shovel the dirt in the yard (ugh, I guess I should cut the grass, but wait, I like cutting the grass, yippee on that part)

Ironic part is everytime I push him to go to the doc, it means surgery (appendicitis, nuetering, now this)

Pam, here they schedule the meet the teacher on the Thursday night before the Monday that school starts. That way all the working parents can go. Only problem is if you are a teacher you can't take your kids to their own meet the teacher if they are in a different school.

The highschool is during the day cause they figure those kids don't want their parents there.

I know what you mean about hubby and doctors. For a while there it seemed that everytime Frank went to the Dr. there were major repercussions. Now that happens for both of us. LOL

He did great. I posted the pictures after we had spoken to his mom. He loved it and when they got to the school and walked into the classroom, he gave them each a hug and then waved them goodbye and went to play. No tears at all.

So... Kristen told me that she put a picture on Nibbs just for me....

So... I looked for it.

And, while searching, I found out that yesterday was Beth's birthday. Which I missed. Because I WAS WORKING LATE. Again.

And I kept looking for Kristen's picture...

And... (to be continued)....

Speaking of speedos...this one's for Dee.

(see p. 2 - "I just don't want to see it on some 50 year old guy with a buddha belly hanging over it." ... well this guy is probably a little older, but still... I'm a giver, yeah?)
