Awww (((hugs))) to you Miss Stacie! I know it all too well. You are right about it passing, but it still sucks while it's still here. Makes me think of a country song I heard not too long ago... "if you're going through hell, keep on going dont slow down... you might just get through before the devil even knows you're there...."

insomnia must be goin' round the VILLAGE.

im up.

crashed at 8:00....then woke up at 12:30ish....

DH is snoring.

my youngest snuck into my bed and was kicking me.

crappy day today....which im 'slowly' saying adiou to.

all adds up to INSOMNIA.

im hoping if i just sit here for a few more mintues, ill get sleepy enough again to go back to bed.

course sitting here at the computer and typing is probably the worst thing i could be doing.

well there could be worse things....

like out robbing a conveinence store.

that would be worse.

im heading to the organic farmers market tomorrow/friday.

20 mins from my house, who knew??

i found it when i was on a website.  my friend had this uber lovely smellin' lotion on this weekend - DR. BRONNERS PATCHOULI LIME LOTION.

i LOVE, LOVE, LOVE did i say how much i LOVE the scent....so i went online to see if there were any stores in my area that carried it so i didnt have to wait for it to be shipped.

here, i found a farmers market thats right up the road from me and not only do the carry said lotion, but they have all sorts of organic everything, including food - produce, meat, dairy, eggs, et al.

this PALEO DIETER will have a 'field day'

im hoping to head out there tomorrow, at the latest FRIDAY.

im gonna get the lotion and some face soap as a reward for a race well run.

the 'real' reward for my tri season comes (hopefully) Christmas Day in the form of one GARMIN 310XT.

pwease.  oh pwease Mr. Claus.  ive been AWFULLY good this year.

well.

i hear WILD THING #3 stirring upstairs.  im sure he's wondering where im at.

off to bed, GHOULIES.

nighty night.

sleep tight.

dont let the bed bugs bite.

and betcha there's monsters under your bed.

cuz this is GHOULIE VILLAGE!

MORNING GHOULIES.

not sure what's up for me today.

i signed up for spin.  but feelin' like i 'should' probably get at least a short run in today.  1-2-3 miles.

this is the one thing i hadnt really 'planned' for - what to do the week of recovery after my 1/2.

what do you all do (typically) the week after a big race??

i guess im feeling a little aimless, which i expected to feel.

im good at sticking to a plan, but im not so good at just 'goin' w the flow'

ive heard advice re recovery weeks, both ways:

some people say to get back at it especially running as soon as your feeling 'up to it'

other people have said, especially at the end of a long season like me, to just do what you want to do when you want to do it, and forget about doing anything 'formal' for awhile.

i guess im landing somewheres in the middle.  but still sorta uncertain.

physically im feeling great, but i know energy wise im feelin' depleted (hence early to bed) and mentally/emotionally im a little frayed (im not sure if thats the 1/2 Mary 'talking' or the combination of all the crapola thats happening on the homefront)

im planning a TOTAL REST DAY on Friday.  i have a movie and a book.  im gonna snuggle in and not do much, not laundry, not cleaning, not nothing.

Saturday im gonna go to 2 hr spin, ive decided that ill go and stay for as long as i can/feel up to.

Sunday im not sure, maybe swim.

can i go a whole w/out running?

who knew recovery was so complicated.  maybe im making a bigger deal out of it than i need to.

any feedback would be most appreciated.

love my GHOULIES.

as im reading over what i posted....

im wondering if i should just do a short, very easy run today 3 miles max...

and leave all the spinning for Sat.

frankly, id rather spin than run.

i think that's where i feel 'conflicted'  maybe i should run, but id rather spin.

Don't worry about it, I'm up at the crack of stupid every day!

I was beat last night. I had a horrible run. 3+ miles, should have done some sprints in there, I had no legs, no legs at all. I'm not sure if it was because I was messing with my diet yesterday, or because I ran pretty hard on Tuesday, maybe a combination of both. I have 5ish miles planned tonight, I sure hope it goes better.

I was in bed by 8:30 last night. My son was up longer than I was. I hope my husband put him to bed, I don't know. He wasn't asleep in the living room when I left the house this morning so I'm going to take that as a good sign.

Have a great day Ghoulies!!!
