Paul, I'm confused.  XTERRA  lists the championship at Park City, but the event webpage states both Ogden and Snowbasin Resort.  Is Snowbasin Resort in Park City?

I woke up this morning with a bit of a stiff neck.  Got in the shower and after I washed my hair, I completely tweaked it and now am unable to raise my arms above my head without shooting pain in my neck.  Full-blown muscle spasms.  I get this from time to time and I think it's a result of a car accident I was in when I was in my 20's.  Then again, I might just be getting old.  I popped some Tylenol and will have to wait and see about my scheduled swim workout at lunchtime.

wgraves7582 - 2010-05-12 5:56 AM Well it is Wednesday and our son's good buddy is going in to have surgery to remove cancerous material in his knee area.  He is 13 y/o and I guess they call this Soft Tissue Cancer and it is not a good thing.  So far it is just in the knee area and has not spread so we are praying that they get it all and his recovery time is short with the required radiation treatments.  I just shake my head at the thought of that for a 13 y/o having to endure that.  His name is Cory and if you could pray for him as well I would greatly appreciate it.

Its tough to see younger kids go through this. I'll pray for him and his doctors that they will be guided in his treatment. Keep us updated periodically on how he does.

wgraves7582 - 2010-05-12 5:41 AM Morning everyone.  Did some yoga and then a short five finger discount run.

Hitting the pool tonight and if this &*D(#(#$*#&$(*&#)((@**@&$* Weather ever turns nice I will return to the bike!!!

Crazy isn't it. No rain at the moment but we're supposed to be getting a lot of it over the next couple of days. The mountains are also shrouded in clouds so they're probably getting more snow (would have made a cool picture). This is May! Its supposed to be in the 80's not 50's!

wgraves7582 - 2010-05-11 7:36 AM Morning men.  Got another run in this morning but man I should have been on the bike but rain is coming in unfortunately - Thanks Tim and Paul!!!! - LOL

Used the Vibram Five Fingers again and I am falling in love with shoes!  Is that right???

Bill... if those shoes were to go on sale, what would it be called?

Wait for it...

A FIVE FINGER DISCOUNT! Bah hah hah hah!!!  Laughing

Saw that one coming after the first post. Anticipation didn't help make it any better.

That's almost as bad as one of my jokes.

Told my wife and son about this one last night. They saw it coming too.

Apparently its not as bad as one of my jokes.

Got a ride in last night. I definitely need to get me another set of gloves that will keep my hands warm in colder weather when riding and running. Almost bought some last month but then thought "Its almost May. I can hold off and get them in the fall." Silly me.

Well, my neck is completely locked up.  Going to see the doctor at 4pm.  Also having an issue with swimmer's ear, so might as well get that looked at as well.  Right now, I truly look like I'm 80 years old... hunched over, walking slowly with a shuffle, and asking people to repeat everything they say.

Yeah, looks like the event is at Snowbasin.  The host hotel is the Marriot in Ogden with rooms rates at $99/night for Xterra competitors.

Never stayed at the Marriott but am familiar with it since I used to live in Ogden. Its not in the best neighborhood. I wouldn't necessarily go walking around after dark. Not that there are any hotels in Ogden that are in a good neighborhood. Its one of the nicest hotels in Ogden and is probably about 45 minutes away from Snowbasin.

Had a good massage this morning and got in a good speed session last night.  4 x 3/4 mile repeats on some trails.  The trails slow you down but you need so much more power to try and keep your speed over the undulating terrain.

Tonight will be an easy 10k on the road.
