tmoran80 - 2011-01-05 12:49 PM Haha  - I was just talking with my wife the other day about how you use it every day and I think I am going to try that.

Here are a couple YouTube videos -  I posted these because this show was on the Friday of my Ironman weekend -haha  (I had to keep my bike backstage) I played a 4 hour set until 10:30pm, jumped in the car and drove 5 hours to St. Louis.  Slept at hotel for few hours, woke up and drove another 4 hours to Branson to get there in enough time for registration.  Looking back I don't think I would ever book a show again on Ironman weekend -hahah  - 45 degrees in Chicago when we left and 90 degrees when we pulled into Branson.

IceManScott - 2011-01-05 11:09 AM Tim, I'm telling you man, Neti Pot every day.  Why wait until you're sick?  They keep the disease fighting little hairs in the sinuses moving things out that aren't supposed to be there.

Does your band have anything online?  It'd be cool hearing you.

Aweseom links Tim. Would love to see the band live sometime. Your in Chicago right? I have been there yet - you never know.

tmoran80 - 2011-01-05 4:44 PM Haha - No you can buy it at Walgreens or CVS - not on some ghetto street corner.

Basically it is this little plastic pot (looks like a tea kettle) that you mix this little packet with warm water and then run thru on nostril, thru you sinus cavity and then out the other nostril.  Feel weird at first but really cleans out your sinus cavity, especially if you have a sinus infection.

Kevin if you pick one in MI or OH let me know, maybe I try and sign up for it also.  Would be cool to do a race with everyone in the group.

I say everyone should join Scott and I and do IMWI.   Can be a big training group. :-)

J/k to bad there wasnt a central race.

Deb does your class use actual computrainers if so that is so cool. I wish I could get 7 others to buy them in our area so we could hook them up and race each other.

IM Moo is 9/11/11 the 10th anniversary of the attacks.  Will be a ZOO!  But should be moving and fun.  The regular spots are closed.  Check for the charity spots.  Cost 2X as much but you get in.

I do use the Neti pot every day and have since Nov. 2009.  I had one very minor day long sniffle attack last winter and one very light 3-day respiratory thing this winter so far.  Usually I have 3 massive cold attacks every winter.  I attribute it to the Neti Pot and vitamins.  I use it in the shower.  Comes with very mild salt packets.  Put one in warm water and use the tea pot looking device to pour in one nostril then the other.  It cleans out the sinus and gets those little hair thingies that are there working in concert to keep out germs.

Really good tunes Tim.  I asked a spin instructor about play lists this morning at Masters.  She says there is a web site where they exchange ideas...musicforcyclists.com.  Gonna check it.

I ran 5K on the TD last night in 28 mins with a slow warmup first mile. That may be slow to you, its good for me especially in the winter.   I also lifted, stretched and did yoga and foam rollers.  Masters this morning.  Time int he water is really coming down.  I took the coach's advice, bought some flippers for training and it really helped the kick.  No dead spots any more and I am not over twisting.  He also has me reaching better and now I'm working on finishing the stroke better and gliding.  Amazing how fast I am compared to the start of winter with just a few adjustments.

Hook up on FaceBook too if you like.  Scott Richardson, Normal Illinois

Y'all have a good day.

Did a 4 mile run last night for the first time in God-knows-how-long...Felt good.  Tendons on the outside of my ankle are feeling a little loose, so I'm going to be watching that.  Bagged the strength training as I have spin class tonight.

Thinking that this will serve as kind of an experiment since I did a strength workout the day before spin class on Monday and I paid for it.  Need more recovery time.

i quickly looked up computrainer and found cost around $4-5k.  is that correct or can you buy it for less?  is it something you can buy the basic and add to later?

Jason, you are looking at their exercise bike. The CT is a trainer, a controller and software and the wires to hook the trainer to the computer.  About $1600 for the lab, which is more precise.  You use your own bike just like a fluid trainer.  Racermate.com.  Check eBay too.  I've seen new ones for $1200.  Considering all I can do with it and the increase in efficiency in time spent and the cost of a basic fluid trainer $325-$350, I figured this was worth it.

Sorry, I saw this question before and meant to say something.  Yes, you need them.  You can swim, ride the bike and run in the shorts.  You need a shirt of some kind and tri shirts are tight to be aero, they dry fast after teh swim and wick sweat and they have pockets.

Is there a big difference between the more xpensive ones and the cheaper ones? Anyone have brand loyalty?

When I saw your post yesterday I went to get the link of the shorts I have been using (Aevero) and they are OUT OF BUSINESS.  The shorts were dirt cheap- $30 I think.  The jerset was kind of cheezy and I ended up only using it once and buying a different top - but the shorts have held up for 1 years worth of races and I wear them at the pool.  Totally bummed becasue I was meaning to buy another pair.  So no - I don't have any help for you on this one.  Cry

As far as price - it is all personal preference.  Like I said I had THE CHEAPEST and I loved them.  As long as they fit good I don't think you should have any issues.  My preference is minimal padding.
