I may have had too much to eat over the holiday. I noticed yesterday after my swim that my jammers had a rather large hole in the butt where a seam had ripped apart. I'm not sure when this occurred. I hoping that it was as I was climbing out of the pool not before. I feel sorry for the other swimmers if I swam the whole workout like that though. I'd like to think I would have noticed a draft but who knows. Unfortunately I'll have to swim in board shorts for time being. Is it wrong that I laughed at this? |

Absolutely mix it up. There is no good to be had in doing something you don't want to do, so go try something you do want to do. You are already a spinning and swimming maniac, it won't hurt you to miss a session every now and then. You also just had the Wild Things home for a few days which can throw off schedules. It will be that way in a few more weeks again, don't forget. Enjoy your time with them, but be sure to enjoy some time for you, too.not that i think i need to toally abandon my schedule, but.... i was watching my kids ice skate and remembered how much i LOVED to ice skate as a kid.... i looked online, the local rink has a skate 2xs a week, in the morning, called the Coffee Club 9:30-11:20. not sure how much it will benefit me, training wise (though im sure ice skating is an aerobic workout) it would be a nice change up. maybe i'll head over there 1x a week in the month of December, just for something 'different' stacieb |

Sometimes you need to switch things and up just go enjoy whatever it is you want to do. Give yourself a break. It would be a shame for tri training to become a chore because you were forcing workouts. thanks for this NEAL. i really appreciate the feedback...i think sometimes i just need to 'talk something out' ya know. i would HATE for any of this to become a chore, so id like to do some mixing it up BEFORE it starts to become that. again. you think you know what your gonna do IN THEORY, and then when it comes to actually doing it, sometimes it 'feels' different than what you expected. stacieb |

Had a busy day today at work and just got home, although I did get a swim and knee PT done early this morning. Total of 21 sessions this month. Thanks for the motivation!!! I do so "dis-dain" my PT and so need to keep it up. Now to find something easy for dinner and read what has been going on the village today. |

WILD THING 2&3 were a big help. saved multiple trips up and down the stairs. and make the work easier and a lot more fun. its always great to hear their reaction when the stockings are 'uncovered' and how enthusiastic they are about getting them hung up on the fireplace. [i remember i had the same reaction as a kid....my mom knitted my stocking, and i still have it packed in the christmas stuff...] this time of year is simply splendid. stacieb We got our tree on Friday when I got home from work. I thought we were just going to go tag one and bring it home later, but nope, we got the tree. The kids were so excited, I don't think they'd have left us leave without it. We didn't put it up until Saturday morning though since we weren't prepared at all. Our tree was just over 11 feet tall. We had to cut it down just a bit so we could put the angel on top, as it was it went all the way up to the ceiling. I had to go out and buy an extra set of lights to finish off the top. The husband and kids got the outside lights done on Friday as well. Now we just need to decorate the rest of the inside of the house. Holy Smokes!!! How cool is that????? I'm usually traveling over the holidays....personal, not work....so I often get lazy about putting up a tree. Please post a picture so I can live vicariously. |

It would be a shame for tri training to become a chore because you were forcing workouts. x2 I play in a recreational soccer league in the spring and fall. It completely overlaps run and tri season but I don't care. I've come home after a sprint tri and half mary to play a Sunday game. Now mind you, it is purely recreational and we need every player when can get. I never played in high school or college but like the feel of running *after something* vs my normal training runs. A social way to get in a bit of speedwork. So go for the ice skating, just for the fun of it. |

I moved to NJ from AZ and miss the desert climate....except when it is 115 degrees F mid-morning. |
