Great job everyone. 7/16 have reached their goals and most of the rest are within striking distance.

We are currently at 91.08% with one day left to run.

I have a 10 miler planned for after work which will put me above 110% for the month.

Go Team Pfreaky Pfft

Just did my last run of the month...

Run:9h 48m 35s  - 57.53 Mi

Goal was 55 so 2.53 miles over..not much but I stick with my training plan.

It was a good run month for me..felt good, did my first running race in 13 months, hope I get back to my old pace (I know be patient). I'm injury free which rocks.

Another 5K Sunday with 1000 folks which should be interesting..bands we run by 2x...

Got the last run of the month in for me as well with close to an eight miler. Twas my longest run to date... well before the 15K next weekend. Came close to that 40... but I just couldn't push out any more tonight. Ended out at 38.46/40. Oh so close.

It's been a fun month with you all Pfft... I just got super busy the last couple weeks between vacation, moving, starting the new job, etc hadn't had the time to get on here too often. Everyone that's sick need's to get well soon! And happy leap year

Hey team, I am going to be short 5 miles. I have been stuck at home with a sick kid and was going to run tonight, but now I am feeling achy and just not well. Sorry I couldn't pull through, sickness got in the way.

Guys, I may come out a little short for this challenge. The majority of the family (including I) came down with the flu this weekend. I took the day off from work yesterday, but today am into work with a morning full of 'productive' coughs. Hooray for Mucinex. If I can get this chest congestion out, I plan on a run tomorrow and Friday...if not...I may be stuck at 88%

I'll keep you updated...

Hi Spanky Sal,

Sorry to hear that you've caught the evil bug.

Since you're not usually one to sandbag miss workouts (OR miss work), I'm ok with your revising your Challenge goal.

(I'm thinking that if you stayed home from work, you must REALLY be sick - and it's not that you just felt like grabbing some cheesecake or something. )

Hope you feel better soon!

Dee

Just got back from the doctor. I have an upper respiratory infection, but the doc gave me some kick-butt antibiotics, so I should be better soon, but unfortunately not in enough time to get my last 8 miles in. I asked him if I could still train this week...he just laughed...

Well, I stand at 88% of goal. Is it best that I drop out, or do we have enough team overage to cover?

Well, gee. I should have kept reading your team thread. (Or the PMs that 1for1 sent. LOL)

Nope, you can't drop out. (Actually, I'm being consistent with this - I just said that same to someone on another team.)

But you MAY revise your goal.

It sounds like you got sick around Saturday (the 23rd), right? So you missed 7 days....
(29-7=22 days that you did work out) / 29 days in Feb = 76%

So you did participate for 76% of the month.
I've just revised your goal to 76% of your original amount.

Because your mileage was reduced however, your amount is capped at 100%.
(You don't get to hit the "bonus" amount of 110%.)

Congratulations - while you missed the last week, you were on schedule to be ahead of your goal. So by doing that, you have helped your team.

Feel better!

Dee

My feeling is that we are all a team Sal, and would rather see you finish with the team even if it is less than what you had hoped. You put in a great month of training and would hate to see you drop from the team so close to the finish. (Regardless of your final % Complete)

In the end, it is all about the motivation that comes from being on a team that makes all of this so much fun. We start as a group, hang together as a group, and finish as a group.

Whatever happens with the final standings is not nearly as important to me. FWIW: I think there are quite a few folks who will be logging a 110% so we will have a good chance of hitting 100% overall as a team.

I am not the team Captain and have no official say in how your illness get's treated. This is just my opinion

WaterDog - well said.

My final numbers for the month are 8.5 hours of running, which puts me over by half an hour.. to help out a few people who are feeling under the weather.

Sorry that so many people are feeling under the weather... February was a rough month... took me out of action for a week mid-month, as well.

Reminder:

Please make sure you've logged your February training totals on the Google Spreadsheet by midnight tonight (your local time).

I will be compiling the results tomorrow morning, and announcing the FINAL TEAM STANDINGS!

This will determine the winner(s) of the February Challenge.... as well as those who will be displaying the losing Penalty Avatars.

If you have trouble using the Spreadsheet, please let your team captain know.

And remember, the March Biking Challenge starts today! There's still time to sign up, if you haven't done so already.

Argh! That makes me mad... if I could've done my 5 miles we would've made it

But... I think I have a good reason... I have the flu I feel like total a&&.  I don't even know if I'll get to to my training runs this week and how I'm going to get my training back on track.
