My hair is really, really long. It's super easy to take care of. It is wet all the time too, though. That's the only downside. I need to read more posts to see what else has been happening. Cheers! |

Veteran 340 | Subject: RE: Show us your Ghoulies - Halloween Run Challenge Page #2 Well I have spent the day on the town. My hair lady called my cell to see how the hair was....still not good. Everyone that walked towards me automatically smiled, at first I thought everyone was in a good mood due to Friday. After ahile I began looking behind me...turns out they were all laughing. Stopped by the office, they burst into laughter. One lady said I looked like an Indian Paint brush (flower), another said I was a pumpkin pie spice. Then I was told that October is breast cancer awarness month, and it was great that I did my hair to get into the spirit. Spent several hours looking for a pharmacy robber. Turns out I have family that came to town for a soccer game....I will have company after all. uggggg....going to buy a ball cap. |

She said play with it for the weekend..that will help. She would try to do something on Monday if I did not like it. I am not sure if I want her to touch it. The relative that is here today is also a hair stylist....she was mortified! Said she could fix it, I dunno. |

May do some yoga to stretch out those calves, plus I think leg balance poses actually massage the lower legs muscles (at least it feels like it to me). Bought some new shoes today since the old ones had alot of miels on them and I've cranked up the mile volume quite a bit. Have a great weekend! Enjoy your rest today! With that increased mileage you sure will need it |

Pool. Dinner. that's the plan! in that order. good thinkin' lincoln. stacieb Well, the pool was out. 3:00 meeting ran 2 hrs instead of the one it was scheduled for and that meant aqua-aerobics was in full swing. Grrr!!! aqua-aerobics GRRRRRR. they take up like 5 out 6 lanes in our pool. god bless for moving their bodies, but.....damn them all when it comes to needing a lap lane. sorry your meeting went over. blasted. stacieb I love the rip current they create when they do the circles in the water and you are pushed against the lane divider by their mass movements (literally and figuratively ) seriously. i thought i was the only one that 'experienced' that. you too? such a pain. but then i think to myself, this just might be good OWS training. LOL. like i said, god bless em. stacieb Between that and "flipper man" at my pool I'm set for simulating OWS FLIPPER MAN. chuckle chuckle. do you have an older guy that swims laps using a SNORKLE at your pool, NEAL? cracks me up everytime i see em. stacieb Flipper man does like a 45 minute set with flippers AND fins. The waves are horrendous. He was there today. In the lane next to me. Grrr! We do have snorkle guy, but he's there less frequently, and doesn't create the same level of havoc on the pool. |

REST DAY today. i am making a serious/attentive effort to do a chapter in my writers workshop today. i even wrote it my calendar, like an appointment so i wouldnt be tempted to let others things get in the way, like maybe, uhm, i dunno, FOOLING AROUND ON BT! lol. im more of a when the mood strikes me kinda of person when it comes to writing, but i am trying to 'carve out' some time to go through the material in the book i purchased, to improve my writing skills (its a really good book....) so. that's on the agenda. and i need to get to the running store (theres one in Cranberry now, can we all say yahoo!) to buy one of those fuelbelts where you can stuff your stuff into the loops. i figure im gonna need one for tomorrows run since ill be on the trail and not running the road arounds my neighborhood. it was easy to drive around to stash my stuff. when i hit the trail, im gonna be in there for awhile, need to carryin all my provisions. i few returns to make today - most importantly a pair of running tights i bought. brought them home and first time i put them on the zipper got stuck and it wont move. BAH! ill probably need them to run tomorrow, its supposed to be quite nip. and i need to do some laundry, sweep the hardwood, clean the bathrooms (AGAIN!!!) then pizza night w the fam, hang out and just chill. welp. my life wont live itself w/out me in it! so im off! RUN HAPPY EVERYONE stacieb What sort of writing do you do? I'm sort of a recreational writer myself, just haven't had much time with all the training. ah thanks for asking NEAL. i write poetry more than anything else. if i write something longer its usually personal and reflective. actually. when people would read my race reports thats when they would tell me what a great writer i am. cracks me up. i think id like to write magazine/newsletter articles, on personal development, sport psychology, spirituality that sorta thing....but who knows, i might just keep it all to myself too. how bout you? what sort of writing to do you do recreationally, when your not training? Very cool. I have dabbled with poetry some, but I love writing just about anything, which is weird because I am a scientist. I used to love writing papers in college. I'd take a term paper over a midterm exam any day. I've had a lifelong dream of writing a novel ever since I was a little kid. After a couple of laughable attempts i finally have a draft written of something that I would consider trying to get published. It still needs a butt-ton of polishing/revising and I work on it when I can (which has been very little in the past 2 years since I started this tri thing) |

Champion 10742 Ames, IA | Subject: RE: Show us your Ghoulies - Halloween Run Challenge Page #2 iowagander - 2009-10-09 4:42 PM We were given a 4 day weekend, so I just spent my Friday morning golfing. Considering I hadn't swung a club for over 6 months, I'm VERY happy with the 90 I shot, which included a very nifty little chip-in for birdie from 30 yards on 17. Also, I walked the course for about 4 miles worth of walking. I guess that means I won't be running today, but I'll get some miles in tomorrow or Sunday. Enjoy the 4 day weekend. I'd be a lier if I said I wasn't a wee bit jealous. I only got the clubs out twice this year. It wasn't pretty and I definitely was not making any chip in birdies |
