I think least year the run course was changed and they did not post it until late. Its like they wait to update the web page until last minute. If I remember right that what happened. I might be wrong.

I heard that the permits were being signed this week so the new bike route will be posted soon.  Someone on another board went to an IronMan meeting last night and said that the race director said that the new course is so fast that they expect <8 hour finishes.  Hmmm????

Without some sort of current assisted swim I think Sub 8 is doubtful

What board is this. Do you have a link. I don't which direction they would go to have a course that fast.

Just heard the same news pmruns... I think the comment about the "Sub - 8 Hour Finishes" is more a figure of speech than literal... and I would assume that it also is in reference to the Pro Men's Field and not the Age Groupers... just my thoughts.

In any case, I'll take a faster bike split in hopes of a successful finish.  140.6 miles is 140.6 miles... and ain't nothing easy about covering that distance in one day regardless of any assistance from the terrain.

Davenport is spectacular.  Wife and I spent wedding night here and its where we always direct out of town family and friends to stay when visiting.

I definitely think that the Race Director was talking about the <8 Pro finish.  Not sure if I'm allowed to mention the other board?  (iamtri dot com)  There is a CDA group there with a few CDA locals filling in the information on the new course.

I'm just happy about a possible faster bike split...but who knows with those climbs?  Now, back to praying for warmer water.

Thanks for the info PMRuns...I was talking about the Pro's look at Craig Alexander last year arguably one of the best if not the best in the world, came in at 8:19...he won't swim much faster then 50 minutes and he won't run a much faster Marathon then 2;43 so he would have to find most of those 19 minutes on the bike Huge amount of time for the top pro's

Me and you get 19 minutes I'll be happy!

Nearing 20 weeks til race day!!! How is everyone doing with training?

I'm plugging away on my trainer and treadmill as the snow is piling up outside but I still look forward to completing my workouts.

I was doing the math the other day during a long run.  it helps pass the time.  it seems far away, but when you break it down to weeks and # of key workouts, it is right around the corner.

My motivation and energy has picked up in recent weeks and I am feeling good about where I am in the process.  The weight loss has also finally started.

"Officially" I haven't started?  I am following a 20 week program, week 1 is the first full week of Feb.

That being said, training is going well for me, I was doing week 1 repeatedly to get a base built up after a foot fracture, but that got too easy, so I have been doing week 2 (long swim is 1250m, long ride is 30 miles and long run is 7 miles) the past couple of weeks, which is already too easy as well.  Took me a bit, but I am finally enjoying my trainer rides, still can't wait until it's nice enough to ride outdoors.  Running has been almost all outside, the only thing that has stopped me is high winds, otherwise, rain, snow, freezing rain, etc has been a great time to be outside!

Looking forward to June 24th, hopefully a bunch of us can meet up for a post race meet up/pics whatever?

I am jealous of your weather!  We are starting to have some relatively mild weather.  I will be there, I took the time off for just that sort of thing, plus just to relax and rest!

Hi all. I plan on doing Cd'A in 2013 so I'm just lurking around here following you guys. I'll be a volunteer this year.

Thought you folks that are unfamiliar with the area might like to see this video someone made of the new bike course:  http://vimeo.com/35802363
