You guys are too funny! Thanks for the steak and potato/potatoe visual, as I'm sipping green juice.

Billy, don't pout. I lost fair and square and told you I'll make the cake, but you gotta come and get it!

Day 20 is done! And as an example, today I did P90X2 Plyocide, swam a short 25 min and just now hopped on the dreadmill for an easy 3 miler all on just juice and water.. Feel great (though wouldn't mind that steak in the least right now!)! 9 more days..

Nice running Monte!!!

Great job on the juicing Lena!!  While I don't think a long juice fast is for me, I am going to incorporate juices into my diet going forward.  We have been borrowing my mom's juicer to see how we like it and surprisingly, my 16 year old daughter LOVES it.  I ordered a juicer and a couple of books for recipes.  We'll see how it goes.

Last night I had a great evening. I got to spend a couple of hours with Chris Gardner. For those of you who don't know the name, The Pursuit of Happyness is Chris' story. What a wonderful story of perseverance, discipline, paying the price over and over, as well as class an dignity. Many parallels to Ironman, triathlon and training.

He spoke at our company's sales meeting.  He is a great speaker and a very down to earth guy.  I got to chat with him before he spoke, I thought that was who I was talking to but we never introduced ourselves instead we just talked.

I have been reading all your juicing exploits, very impressive...  Glad the pains are easing for everyone

I may start when I get back, on my last leg of this from a logistics perspective awful trip.  Spent multiple hours in different airports because no-one wanted to put me on their earlier flights.  Tried to work out at the airport hotels where I was stuck but there was no gym and today I dropped my phone with a cracked screen as a result.  I will be happier than ever to get home.  I did have the opportunity to meet up with my sister and my niece in Amsterdam to celebrate her birthday.

Looking forward to a nice regular training schedule for the next 3 weeks....  My first triathlon in May 12 or April 29, looking forward to that as well

Billy - nice job on the juicing.  I may do something similar - juice for breakfast and lunch, but then a very healthy veggie meal for dinner.

Pam - traveling is never fun and it can really mess with training.  Get in what you can when you can.  That's all you can do.

I'll be leaving for Galveston shortly after noon today for the HIM on Sunday.  I probably won't be online much between now and then, so everyone have a great weekend.  If you are racing, too, good luck!

Happy Saturday peeps! This morning I had to invoke my "Get Your A$$ Out The Door" move. I have a deal with myself - when I don't want to go, I just make myself run to the end of the block - and give myself permission to go back home if I want - I have NEVER turned back at the end of the block. Very humid this morning but it became a great run.

I've missed everyone! Loving the juice talk and somewhat inspired to try it, but it will have to wait until I have a real place.

Did the indoor tri I was training for and did better than my first one. I was pretty happy with it so for 15 min swim, 20 min bike, 15 min run I did .33miles/6.54miles/1.17 miles AND I didn't need to use my inhaler once. I'm going to do the final once of this particular series a week from today, but I haven't been to the gym in a week with the move craziness, but it helps keep me active.

I also signed up for my first 5k! It'll be in two weeks.. the Race to Wrigley. I wanted to do at least one race in Chicago before I leave, and this will be a neat one since it's the neighborhood I had my first apartment in and I used to walk a very similar route to get to/from the train.

I'm still toying with the idea of dong the Annapolis tri right after I move, and I have no problem with the swim, bike or run distance.. but I'm a little concerned that I won't have had ANY open water experience. Thoughts? How necessary is it? I don't think I'll do great, but it's a really short swim (500m) and so it seems like it would be a good starter.

Congratulations Marianne!  You are rockin!  As to the open water swim, the question is have you ever swim in open water before or played it in?  Where you comfortable with it?

Billy, awesome job on the weight!

Way to get out there and get your run in, Bryan!

I guess I am going to have to give this juicing thing a try after all.  I think I might just do breakfast and lunch.  Will have to look into it.

I think I have a name for my bike, Dario.  As in Dario Franchitti in Indy car racing, except his car is the wrong color.  We have been working on our partnership and well the hubby is getting a little jealous.

First OWS with wetsuit EVER.  Felt like a blubbery seal (the animal sadly not the Navy type) but slugged through 1600 m.  Not sure I like swimming with it but I need to get used to it before the water heats up too much around here.
