I just signed up for a two hour road bike hill climbing clinic on Saturday. Not sure what I was thinking but for $15 I was curious. Should be interesting!

mndymond - 2012-05-02 8:03 PM So Neal and I will both be scarce this weekend. As he mentioned he will be away for a race and I am on call on Saturday. booooo weekend call. No days off until May 12. Keep up the training everyone!

It is unfortunate that work gets in the way of life especially when the weekend is looking nice!

Need to win the lottery!

disturbed275 - 2012-05-02 7:38 PM As I alluded to in a previous post I have a race this weekend and will be traveling to Columbus, OH to do so.  My brother lives out there so I conveniently picked a weekend to go see him that had a half marathon planned in the city. So I'll be on the road a bit and might be a little scarce around here.  Just wanted to give you guys a heads up

Any predictions on your time?

I beg you not to drink any beer floats on this trip, that is just wrong...Laughing

Wicked job Qual17!!! that's awesome, congrats on the weight loss!!

It's exciting to hear about everyone's triathlons comming up! My first one is May 27, nice 1000m indoor pool swim

I beat my goal this weekend of breaking 2 hrs on a half marathon! I finished in 1hr58 min! it was awesome!! Hard course too, lots of hills....if any of you have been around the Glenmore reservoire in Calgary that's where it was held!

Anyone know how to change the settings so the message you are replying to is included??? I can't seem to figure it out...would make it easier to reply directly to a post!!! lol

Awesome job on your half.  I can't really imagine running for 2 HOURS!  That is so cool!  Can't wait to start hearing race reports from Tris.  How long of a bike and run in your race.

I'm doing the Coronation tri in Edmonton....kind of neat it's a 1000m pool swim, 26km bike and 8km run, so not quite a oly but more then a sprint!  figured it's a good first race before my first actual OLY in Wasa 2 weeks after!

Super stoked! I booked my campsite today for my Ironman Training camp in July in Penticton! The pics look so beautiful, I can't wait to see the course before hand!

Should be a good race! Wasa is on my list of to-do's! What campground are you staying at in Penticton? I used to live there for about 3 1/2 years, not sure why I moved...

No kidding!! I'd love to live pretty much anywhere in B.C i think!!  Have you been to Wasa before? I volunteered 2 years ago, it's a nice flat course and very nice lake!! We are camping there too at the provincial camp ground, it's nice and close to race start in the morning!!

We booked Camp-Along Campsite in Penticton....They were the cheapest and closest to where the training camp is leaving from in the mornings....They are long days too, so I won't actually spend much time at the site either!

nice work on your half Tera! I'm sad that I won't get to come out for Coronation! I trained at that pool for years and swim there before going to work still! Haha. Stupid call.

Flat tire on the ride today.  Found out the hard way the pump I bought does not fit presta valve on tire.  ran home.  got car.  picked up bike.  Oh well.

I broke 180 this morning on the scale.  179.6.  It took about 2 months of yo-yo to get down below 180.  170, here we come.

Haven't been to Wasa before but I hear the lake is shallow and warm...well warmer then any Alberta lakes in June!

Enjoy Penticton, if you have time head up to lost moose lodge for lunch/dinner, great view of lakes/Penticton on a sunny day!

No beer floats yet. I did find a brew pub close to the expo for lunch. Enjoying a good maibock right now. As far as a goal for tomorrow I'm shooting for under 1:30. I'll have to have a good day to do that

Quick update from me.... Sorry to be behind on all the posts again!

Working early & late every day this week to make up for my missing work on Monday, so that didn't leave very much time for training!  Last night we had a hail storm (wtf?) so I didn't have track practice either.  I only had my run stuff with me yesterday so I went to the gym to do my run on the treadmill.... I wish I'd brought my swim stuff to the gym since I HATE running on the treadmill.  I lasted 15 minutes and that was it!

I need to figure out how to wake up early and get my workouts in before work... It's hard to do a workout after a 10-12 hour work day!  Even a 1/2 hr swim or run would be good so I don't try to make up for everything on the weekends Undecided

Outstanding!  Congrats on not only meeting but beating your 2 hour goal!  The fact that it sounds like a pretty difficulty course should make you even more proud.

As for the questions about including a message in your reply - if I'm understanding what you want to do correctly - I think you just need to hit the quote instead of the reply button.

Have a great weekend!

Bummer about the tire - but it was pretty cool that you ran home to get the car.  How far did you have to go?

Care to make it interesting?  184 is my goal - and I hope to reach it by June 23rd.  I think 170 is your ultimate goal - correct?  We should set up a bet where the only way you lose is if you don't reach your goal in the amount of time you set for yourself.  If I fail and you reach your goal on time - I owe you a six pack or 2 of really good beer.  We chould send each other a visa cash card through the mail...

Up for it?

Your idea to get the workouts in before work is a good one... My workouts were sporatic at best and then I started working out at 5 am... It's made all the difference.  It took a while to get on the schedule - but it's doable...

I hate leaving my stuff at home... So frustrating!  Hope you have a great weekend!
