Eh, it's all right. The job was "better" that my current on in that it wasn't strictly an admin job - I did contract administration/negotiation for an architectural firm - but as the company started going down the tubes, everyone got really a-holish and it became a terrible place to work. So I was glad to be out of there. |

Expert 1058![]() ![]() ![]() Cambridge | Subject: RE: Wurkit_Gurl's Group - CLOSED (sssh...we're training)been shopping for a bike today, as a late 21st birthday present/22nd etc, ie parents said they will put £300 towards a bike... anyway i was looking in the shop and whilst i only got a chance to try a couple of bikes i seemed to have a problem on the road bikes (i've basically ahd the same hybrid bike since i was 12), i found it not a completely smooth action as my leg went over the highest point on the crank shaft. just didn't feel completely "right" Is it a case of frame too small? The shop was rammed/too busy so didn't get a chance to talk to any staff, will go back tomorrow... Btw i was trying out a 22"/56 cm frame which seemed to be the largest frames around? Random stuff that i should probably have asked at the shop but there was literally no staff around :| |

Subject: RE: Wurkit_Gurl's Group - CLOSED (sssh...we're training)Morning all - hope you all had productive weekends! Congrats on the new bike, Steve! The half-marathon went well (RR is up) - I had no real goals going in except to hopefully stick to under a 10:00/mile, which I did, so hooray Don't forget about the May pink-square challenge - let's see some good workouts this week! |

Regular 59![]() ![]() Oklahoma City | Subject: RE: Wurkit_Gurl's Group - CLOSED (sssh...we're training)Hey kids, I hope everyone is doing well. May is a crazy, stressful and hectic month, so I'm sorry I haven't been around very much. I probaby will miss the mark on the pink squares, but I'll try to get as close as I can. I had a 5K scheduled for Saturday, but ended up canceling (it was raining) to take my mom to brunch and shopping, but I did get a short run in first. Then I'm out of town for five days later this month with extremely long days, so that will also take a chunk out of my training time. So, long story short...training is going to suffer this month. |

Subject: RE: Wurkit_Gurl's Group - CLOSED (sssh...we're training)Morning all - another sunny day here, hooray! Hopefully the nice weather is here to stay. Got my new pair of custom orthotics this morning - to fix the leg length discrepancy and provide extra support for my right foot (the ankle rolls in a bit). They take some time to break in - about 2 weeks of just walking around in them for an hour at a time, until I can build up to a normal day of just moving around in them. Then I can start running in them - 20 minutes at a time, and build from there. That's my fun factoid for now What's up next on everyone's race calendars? My next sprint is on the 31st. Easy course, that I've done before. |

Veteran 223![]() ![]() Near Lake Tahoe, NV | Subject: RE: Wurkit_Gurl's Group - CLOSED (sssh...we're training)Hey all. Had a long day at work yesterday as my company was being audited, which is always fun. My next race is another sprint on June 6, then a 10 k on June 13. I actually find myself concerned more with training for the 10k, but I need to get to the pool and get some swimming in too. |

Member 159![]() ![]() ![]() | Subject: RE: Wurkit_Gurl's Group - CLOSED (sssh...we're training)Oooohhh Audit - Yuck!! I have my first outdoor tri on June 7; I'm feeling pretty good, but still need to get the new bike, going to bike shop after swim at lunch... Other than that, the rest of this month is CRAZY!!!!!!!!! The snowball of summer has already begun... I am starting to get a little nervous because the week before my race, I have a wedding in Roanoke...we are staying with friends though on a lake, so I will get some OWS in, which is good, I just have to make sure I don't go overboard on drinking or dancing... |

Subject: RE: Wurkit_Gurl's Group - CLOSED (sssh...we're training)Cool - glad to see you guys are keeping busy! After my race on the 31st, I MAY do one, just for fun in mid-June - one of my real-life mentees is doing it as her first race and she wants me to come do it with her. I'm also doing a twilight 4-Miler at the end of June, another sprint in July, an Oly in September, a running relay at the end of September, and then the Marine Corps Marathon. I MIGHT do another sprint in August, but that remains to be seen....probably about a 10% chance of that one right now. |
