Member 22 | Subject: RE: Boston Beginner's Group, Season 2 - CLOSED Hey Everyone, The race was great! I don't have any results yet, but will post a r.r. once they're in. Was pretty sick last week, had a funeral the day before, and didn't know if I would race, but decided to HTFU and get r' done (this race was for my uncle, I'm pretty sure he was watching). Crazy cold day, it was 2 degrees Celsius when we started and didn't really warm up much in the 1 1/2 hr (I think) it took me. Thanks for all the inspires - it's official! First race - Done. Stac |

Expert 819 In the Shadow of the Big House | Subject: RE: Boston Beginner's Group, Season 2 - CLOSED Hey guys, It looks like everybody has been keeping busy the last week or so. Congrats to the racers this past weekend. Just wanted to give an update as to why I haven't been around much. No Alana, I'm not injured again. I've been burning the candle at both ends the past 10 days or so getting everything in line to open my second office. I have been battling various contractors to meet their deadlines with mixed success. The building is finished and looks awesome. My equipment is in and functional. Now if I can just get the computer people to finish up, I may be able to start sleeping at night again. I swear this is more nerve wracking than having a baby. I'll keep you all posted. First day of business is tomorrow! |

Member 21 Westborough | Subject: RE: Boston Beginner's Group, Season 2 - CLOSED Does anyone/everyone here use heart rate based training? I just had my lactate threshold and VO2max testing done this morning and I am wondering how to best use this data to increase endurance over the next year. All input is welcome. Thank you, Danny Edited by dmahr 2010-05-25 2:18 PM |

Veteran 280 Glens Falls | Subject: RE: Boston Beginner's Group, Season 2 - CLOSED Just finished my 5K race--talk about being a little hot--high 80s and muggy--but have what I think is good news for myself. Finally broke the 9 min mile--yahooo 26.32 not bad for older gentleman like me. Very rewarding and only gives me more drive to continue to drop my time towards my goal of low 8s. |

Very respectable. I have broke the 9 min mile only a couple of times. I can only dream of getting into the 7s. |

Thank you, Danny I do it loosely. I have my LT for running, but I need to do it again. I don't think I did it right last year. I will find the chart that calculates your zones, if you don't have it already. Then you just set up the zones in BT and when you load up your Garmin data, it will calc your zones for you. One of my MA BT friends trains, KathyG, trains specifically in HR Zones. I would PM her if you have real specific questions. |

Have tried to fixed the problem with no results. Anyone go out for a ride today--94 outside, I only managed 12 miles before melting Looks like your graph is for minutes and you only enter the miles....so no data to display. I spent the day in air conditioned comfort. Hoping to go out for a short (and I mean really short) run once it starts to cool down *laughs* |
