Yeah, see... I think of it like this: Pam will see me swim. Pam will take pity on me, as I struggle along in the pool. Pam will tell me what I'm doing wrong. Pam will tell me MORE of what I'm doing wrong. Pam will repeat this process, many times. And then someday, my swimming will finally improve. Hm. I should probably ask how much she charges for lessons.... (OK, so I'd be the only one over the age of 8 getting lessons, but it would be worth it...)

Really? Lots of places do adult beginners swim classes down here... No WAY would you be the only person over 8 learning to swim...

Dee... I thought yuo LIKED to swim?

I just went to Master's  and the coach there taught me...  Surprisingly, I wasn't the slowest for long...maybe just a few weeks or so... there was another lady that had jsut started at pretty much the same level beginning a few weeks before me

I haven't found a convient masters near me yet. The pool I go to doesn't have one. bummer
Just the pools that charge an arm and a leg to swim in .

You better get out before he does. Don't want another spring like you just had.

Yes,Kendra is wise.

But I am incredibly stubborn. And/or stupid. (Take your pick. Either word works.)

Maybe both?

I did give you the And/Or choice.

So I called the bike shop, again... spoke to one of the owners (yep, small shop, and they know me) they ahd found that the RD hanger was bent (hmm, must've done that before yesterday) and they are having to make/engineer some screws for the armrest b/c the threads stripped out of the holes...

Yep, this whole little accident is going to cost... as hubby said "bet it only happens once"

Lesson Learned...  Gotta get something to put on my dash to remind me "bike on roof!!!"

No master's programs around here. The closest one that I found was over an hour's drive away. I couldn't get there in time.

Maybe the pool cockroaches could teach me. They seem to do backstroke pretty well, at least.

I DO like to swim. But I'm getting tired of having my shoulder yell at me every time I do. (I'm SURE it's a technique issue. I just wish I could figure out what I'm doing wrong.) I've been out of the pool since, um.... well, for a long time. And my shoulder is just starting to feel better now.

As long as its not some sort of overuse injury that you set off and now that its been aggravated will play up every time you use that shoulder....

I dont give out my home number... just the cell for EVERYTHING.. so I can screen calls if I want...

The problem is I always loose my phone in the bottom of my hand bag so 99% of the time I actually dont answer because it switches to answer phone before I get to it!

I've learned to ignore the phone.

People will hear it and say, "Aren't you going to answer that?"

I reply, "Get what?"

Um.

Thanks, Cat!

I feel *so* much better now.

(Yes, actually, it could have been caused by overuse and/or poor technique. But now, every time I try to swim, it aggravates it again. I haven't even gone swimming in a long time, and it's still bothering me.)

Dee...

Maybe you could find a new job, relocate, and end up in a community with a POOL!!!!!

A cockroach free pool!!!

Move to the Upstate and swim at my pool. The we can go on long rides with George to Saluda

Now I would find that intimidating   Swimming in "Pam's Pool",  Gosh, I'd have SO MUCH to learn....  of course, then you'd be learning from one of the best

BTW... wasn't Pam supposed to go do 400m btrfly in 200m time and report back...  seems like I recall something like that from earlier on....

LOL. The 50 fly in my 200 IM nearly killed me on Monday. It would be rather embarrassing to be rescued at the pool I work at it. Think I might lose some credibility.

I guess I should have mentioned the two voice mails that were also left for me on the home phone. I guess this person does not remember that I write their reviews and it will be noted that they could not make a decision with out calling me on vacation or realizing that they should check with my Assistant Branch Manager who could have handled all of these questions. Can't wait to write this review.
