He he

I just came across a piece of scratch paper with daves plans for the week(whenever that was).

Top portion has his workout schedule

then his weekend to do list

menu for the week   Breakfast, lunch and snack are the same with a different meal planned each night

And at the bottom-a detailed grocery list that seems incredibly healthy for a single guy in his 20's.

I bet this was in prep for one of last season's HIMs.

I need to actually go to a real grocery store so I'm not sifting through pizza coupons at 8 p.m.

There's no excuse since plenty of friends have offered to take me grocery shopping so I don't have to lug everything around on the bus.

at various dinners I dragged him too at my parents he was introduced to Pot roast, Baby Back Ribs, Pot roast, pork roast(with green apples and cranberries), more pot roast, brauts....the list goes on.   We (the chally's) make a mean pot roast-there is lots of pesto and garlic in it.

Excellent advice! Then I need to put the list on the fridge/freezer--cause I forget what I have and then when I get to it, it's spoiled or missing ingredients.

o

What I find helps is making a list of dinner options for the fridge so when I get home I dont have to think!

I will wait a little longer and then invite my mentor group.  I don't want to give them a Melissa overdose.

Ooh-let me pull an excerpt of a conversation I had on our thread...

Ive had vegieburgers...but they are not pretending to be meat...they are chickpeas andvegies or whatever...

BK used to have the best vegie burgers...it was basically deep fried onion rings, salad, BBQsauce and I think chips or a hashbrown...

first half of conversation

beginnerman: actually the race im doing is a lake swim-only 400M, try not to get killed by alligators, then a 10 mile bike ride looping twice, and a 5K to finish. itll be a good first one for me, and im hoping that since ive been training i hopefully will finish top 10 in the under-39 cateogry(theres only four cats-below 39 and above, male and female) but its just to get my "race" feet. I do bike and run outside when i can, but sometimes i gotta use the staionary at the gym or the trainer if its too dark-wife doesn't want me getting killed-and since im not training for an IM yet, i give in. ill post a short recap for the group when i get done on sunday. just treating it as an extended training day on my plan.

M: Are you sure that alligators are a bad thing...it seems to me that they would motivate athletes to swim their fastest.

Beginnerman:  See! i said that too!!!! too bad my wife does not agree.I also think the quote at the bottom of my tag makes alot of sense......
I told her to get extra "gator-off" from the store on Saturday

I told her to get extra "gator-off" from the store on Saturday   (What do I do if i see an alligator? -Swim faster than the person next to you!)

M: I saw that...it is perfectly logical reasoning. I just can't understand why your wife doesn't see it that way.

Besides-the odds of a gator getting involved in a triathlon are about as high as piranhas attacking...and the whole piranha threat to humans is mostly bark- they very rarely bite humans.  Hey-if you did get attacked you would have some awesome stories and great scars to back them up.  Pirahna scars are awesome!  I would much prefer to be mauled by a pirahna(or several) than by a dog.

Beginnerman:  very true. Thats why i never worry, plus if the thing is gonna attack me-its gonna attack me. You enter the food chain when you enter a lake(in florida) or ocean. people don't understand that. Actually, funny story, my dad when he was scuba diving years back in Bonair(carribean-i believe) he had an ENTIRE school of pirhana follow him for about 1 mile, he said it was pretty cool but concering, he got some real nice pics of them tho.
