Nice job everyone!

Here are my totals:

Bike: 7h 09m 30s - 110.99 Mi
Run: 13h 23m 32s - 71.24 Mi
Swim: 1h 46 m - 4000 M

Really good month for me overall aside from the swimming, and my highest volume run month ever. Bike and swimming will come up as I get back to a more balanced tri schedule, since I've been really run focused lately. The half marathon is on Sunday so I'm starting to get excited!

Here are my January totals...the running is far beyond anything I've ever accomplished.  The bike is all trainer and the swimming is just pathetic...I get too bored too quick.

Bike:1h 51m  - 26.18 Mi
Run:14h 43m 18s  - 70.77 Mi
Swim:29m  - 2405 Yd

Do I get to whine about being sick for a week

Hey, you did more swimming than I did!

Great job on running and doing what you did even being sick a week!

Thanks for thanking me for being your mentor.

Oh oh.....

January's totals:

Bike: 55m - 19 Mi
Run: 8h 40m 42s - 59.37 Mi
Swim: 1h 51m 45s - 6000 Yd
Hot Tub 1h 15m

Beginning weight 201 ending weight 199; body fat beginning 16.8 - ending 15.7.
Interesting part is my leg muscle mass evened out, the "injured" leg gained muscle back in January.

Is this a triathlon website? I guess I forgot. On the up side, my January run totals were more than all of 2009 combined = no more knee injury.

Great job on running.

Uh you logged the HOT TUB? Funny.

By the way... I hate using the safari browser to post on here. Everything looks terrible! All of your January totals look great! My bags for the gym are already packed for tomorrow. It's time for me to finally kick February into full gear!

I am on safari also, sometimes I have to go and put some "break" codes in to get the spacing. Just type a "<" then "br" and another ">", if you want a double space just do it twice together.

Hey there fellow mentees...I have a question.  I headed out for my run yesterday and did a 3-5 minute warm up walk as usual.  When I went to run, my left leg was killing me! On the inside, just above the ankle bone.  I hurt bad enough that I couln't run, I had to walk.  Any ideas on what this may be?  I have an 18 and  20 mile run left, then I taper for my marathon in March.  Help

I have had that exact same pain before! It's a small spot, right. Inside of the leg, right above the ankle.

I wish I could tell you I found the "cure". I just iced it down and honestly... it went away over time. And for me, it took a long time. You might be different... but that pain, along with calf pain sent me to speed walking... mind you, I had that... along with some other issues as well... for a good 2 years.

Ice it. Take a couple of days off running. You will be fine to miss some shorter runs.

Hang in there!

Hi everyone! I've been MIA this week, hope everyone is getting in some good training. I'm tapering for the half marathon on Sunday and am totally and utterly exhausted. I've heard this happens to some people when they back off to prep for a race but it doesn't make it any easier. I did put in four extremely fast (for me) miles on Tuesday night so I'm feeling strong, just really tired. Just thought I would pop in and say hello.

I feel like such a hypochondriac asking this, but I'm new enough to running I don't know when to worry and when to HTFU.  I've had what feels like a bruise inside my right heel for about a week.  It hurts when I lift my heel up, shifting weight to the toes, rather than when I land on it.  It doesn't bug me enough to slow me down, I can run through the pain, which eventually fades.  New shoes?  Dr? Time off running? Quit whining?  Ignore it for a while longer?  I'm only running for 30 to 45 minutes, about 3-3.5 miles a time.  My shoes are a year old with only about 185 miles on them.
