Scott, none of us are going to beat on you for anything (well, some of us would like to beat something on you, but that's a different issue ) ... you do that far too well all by yourself.

As I said to you before, you really are in a $hyty position for the holidays, no changing that. But there are ways to make it better for yourself--and don't discard the suggestions of we who love you just because you're feeling bad, as opposed to that they are bad suggestions.

Mwah.

Ive been with family for the holiday once in the past 6 years... I call myself a christmas orphan....

from the sounds of it, you have made the best of the situation and have created your own little family to celebrate with

speaking of, have you decided on the menu yet?

Yeah, I know I don't have a reason to bi-tch because you two aren't near your families... and I may have them out here the first week in January, but I'm not crossing my fingers if they're coming or not.

Well I guess I could give yu some persepctive... I ahvent seen my bro for 2 years or my mum for 2.5 years...

But the truth is... I still LOVE christmas, something you know about me! What I wanted to tell you was simply that.. christmas is different without family but it can still be magical.. dont give up on it!

Lunch: Rolled Pork Loin with crackling, Rolled Chicken breast with orange and macadamia stuffing, rolled turkey breast with cranberry and walnut stuffing, bean and asparagus with haxelnuts nad cranberries, potato salad, warm tomato salad, peas with butter and garlic, carrots with orange plus maybe a potato salad and green salad for some non hot option.

Bah humbug.

I don't believe in religious legends, so there's very little to celebrate during Christmas except what feels like a spending orgy and forced times with people you a) either don't know or b) don't like.

I like the spirit, the concept... I guess since Ive been on my own it means spending time with people I like and want to be with. It means celebrations with friends, going out for drinks and generally being appreciative of what you have...it means keeping up traditions from happy times and talking on the phone with people youve lost touch with...

Im not strongly religious but thats not hte magic of it... I love christmas movies, I love the fact that its not about presents... its about magic, and imagination and belief in something that cannot be explained, it means celebration and togetherness which is so often missed in this world... and it means taking time to contact people who have meant something to you... even if you dont talk to them any other time of the year...

Maybe I cant explain it... but it means a lot to me... it really does!
