Sprint_DA - 2008-07-17 10:02 AM Too much car talk? Where'd all the womens go?

Ding.

Yay!

Oops I was working. My bad! Shoes: I got a pair of Jessica Simpson brand black pumps on sale last week... wearing them today. Not bad! A little uncomfy, but all 3-inch heels are.

I used to wear heels ALL the time, except in the summer. Now I wear some heels, some flats, some kitten-heels, etc. With all the running, I try not to stress out my knees too much. But I love heels cuz I'm a shortie.

How short?  Dudette, you're starting to scare me a little bit as you remind me eerily of myself, excepting the shoes.

I'm 5' 2" and 3/4, so I round up to 5' 3" I mean it's not freakishly short, but it just means that I can date guys who are only like 5'8" And I'm pretty petite, so I just look kinda small in general.

I can confidently say that I probably own more shoes than the ladies of TAN

(I know, I know.... jab..)

Unless we are including athletic type shoes I am sure you own more than I do: black shoes, brown sandals, camel-colored shoes, silver shoes, and some Steve Madden boots that come across as a bit scandalous.

Every girl needs a pair of those. I got a GREAT pair in December - a guy friend of mine actually bowed down to them at a party.

aka Prosti-boots?

I <3 those.

Yes - or FMB's, as I know them. Also called CFMN boots.

Seriously, the boots are hot. The best purchase I've made in the past year.

cami bee - 2008-07-17 11:24 AM I find this interesting because I have a friend with a sub-y and he and his wife just keep piling money into it, because it's a sub-y so it's reliable. Uh-huh. All this car talk makes me sad right now though.

One would think they would see that you do not have to keep pouring money into a reliable car. If you're pouring in money it ain't reliable.

You would think.  I think people are unwilling to accept the fact that they ended up with a lemon, perhaps they see it as some sort of moral failing.  At a certain point though even a car that was reliable can become unreliable.  Then there are people like my mom who refuse to let go, even when her mechanic (who makes money on fixing her POS), says that it's time to move on.

Yeah, I came to the lemon conclusion pretty effin fast. Right about when the dealer told me they wanted to replace the whole lower block 6 months after they redid the tranny.

That's what my good friends call them.  I once had a friend ask, "Does you mother know you own those boots?!"  To which my response was, "She's the one that picked them out." (Or something to that effect, which is, in fact the truth.

I have a good story about those boots... but I'd like this TAN to live its full life.

Thanks for your restraint.

Rynamite - 2008-07-17 11:38 AM We call the black, tight pants that were really in style a few years ago FMP's.

Ha - never heard them called that before. But yeah, that was the base for my entire wardrobe in college. That, and low-rise jeans. But I'm short-waisted, so they're not as trashy on me - plus I was REALLY thin, so no muffin-toppage going on.

Yeah. I have two shirts with short sleeves where the sleeves have little button closures and now that I have some biceps, they are kinda tight. Can't imagine if that was my whole body.

Consider you have an advantage at times.  Showers are sometimes a pain because I'm at eye level with the nozzle head and have to bend down to get my hair wet and remove the shampoo, and all she needs to do is just stand there.  Then there's the seat adjustments when in a vehicle - not fun.

Haha, when I was in college one week I wore those kinda boots (just to the knee, nothing truly bad) and a leopard print skirt and black top to church and I had multiple comments from people insinuating that it was bad to wear them to church.  Bah.

Might have been the whole outfit - leopard and black and the boots altogether, that turned heads. I've worn my boots with a very modest sweater dress (a lot of girls wear them with wrap dresses to church) to church in the winter and it just kinda looks sophisticated.

NOT saying you looked bad, I just try to make sure I don't give any of the conservative old grannies a heart attack!

But why does what you wear to church matter, assuming all naughty bits are covered and such? There likely wouldn't have been any comments if the skirt had been black. So why does the freakin' print on the skirt matter?

Muffin top = fat leakage over tight clothes.

And in this case, it seems as though the woman was oozing out of all her clothing - everywhere.
