That's my problem, too.  Unless it's really early in the morning there's too much traffic to even ride out of the city to more open roads or get any speed up on the bike paths.  Otherwise it's all start-stop riding that just isn't worth it or you're dodging commuters and joggers which is infuriating and dangerous.

I will not ride by myself in the evening since traffic is so bad and not everyone is nice enough to share the road with a bicycle.  That's why I end up doing an awful lot of my training in the basement on the trainer.

It's starting to get too nice out to break out the trainer.  At the very least, I feel better riding the couple miles to the gym for a class.

Maybe if I had it set up to watch the Tour, I might change my mind...

I seem to remember someone posting that you can watch online.  Not sure who's hosting the feed though - maybe Versus.

And a friend told me he's listening to updates on NPR.  Not sure if it's a rundown after the stage is over or if there is some live commentary coming direct from the race.

I've been getting the recaps from Versus... if someone figures out where to watch online, can you let me know?  I can always throw my laptop in front of the drainer with the headphones.  I always feel bad about having the tv blaring over my drainer whizzing away for fear of waking up my bf in the next room.

can't you hook up earphones to the TV?  I can and it is an ancient TV.
