Subject: RE: Lumber Dad's Mentor Group - ClosedI watched part of the Boston Marathon again this year, which I have done since we moved to this neck of the woods. I always use it as a motivator, and it really gets the competitive juices flowing. This year I ran to the race course after doing a quick spin on the trainer, to create a messed up brick of sorts (45m on a trainer, 50m of running). I got there in time to see the leading men go through, and a fair number of the elites. I am always in awe of how effortless those guys look... To answer your question directly, I would love to run Boston some day. I would likely go the charity route (pretty easy to find a slot around here if you are willing to raise the money), just because it would be a two or so year process for me to qualify. I think I can run that fast, but never have, and I would have to really focus on the running. I think I like the three sport combo, better. Congrats on the race! I am itching to compete, but mine is still six weeks out. |
