New user![]() | ![]() I have seen many girls wear a sports bra under their bathing suit then you can throw on your shorts over the suit. I wore the top of a 2 peice swimsuit that was like a sports bra under my swimsuit then threw on shorts and a shirt over top for the rest of the race. |

Extreme Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() If anyone is looking to buy a wetsuit, I got an email from GearBuzz (part of Competitor and the RocknRoll series marathons) that has AquaSphere Ironman wetsuits at 60% off. I just ordered one for $89 with shipping. The promotional code is "GB2012". I just thought I'd pass this along. Member![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Thanks everyone for your advice so far regarding the 'girls'. I am super worried cause my 'girls' are really women ( I used to get picked on as a kid for having 'watermelons') While sometimes this is great, when running or riding it isn't so great. I am a little worried about swimming in a bra, in the sense that it will water log and get quite heavy (it is a big bra). I was looking around for a two piece swimming suit that I could wear the top under my togs, but I can't find one big enough. Robin, I am checking out the bra that you found. Hopefully because it comes from Oz it will make it easier for me to get before the race. Also, I had not even thought about chaffing creams! I had better start looking around for some. Top tip that one!

Xterra has some ridiculous market share because they always offer steep discounts (and their suits rule), but for that price I'm seriously considering getting one. Those of you that don't subscribe to Active Gear Buzz should- it's essentially Groupon for Triathletes. Last month I got 2 pairs of Brooks running shoes for $100. |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Anyone have any exciting training happening this weekend? I'm going to be working on my core and doing some corrective exercise. My left leg is 4x stronger than my right, and the imbalance is throwing me off. So the answer to my own question regarding exciting and fun is "NO" :D |

So the answer to my own question regarding exciting and fun is "NO" :D Nothing groundbreaking, just more sweating and suffering: Friday - Swim 5 x 500 yds. Saturday - 8-10 mile run Sunday - bike workout TBD Oh, and wait for my Garmin to arrive. I'm worse than a kid on Christmas. Edited by phyre_cyclone 2012-01-27 10:38 AM |

So the answer to my own question regarding exciting and fun is "NO" :D Nothing exciting, just a 6 mile run on Saturday and maybe a bike ride on Sunday. We are going to a Medeval Fair on Sunday, so depending on how long we spend there the bike maybe be a go/no go. Now, off to the LBS to pick up my wife's new bike! |

Extreme Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Nothing real exciting here either - more speed work run today (ladder). Swim if possible tomorrow morning and bike tomorrow evening (indoor trainer). Long run Sunday. Hope everyone has a great weekend, Steve |

Member![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() This morning we are braving the weather (although it is hot here the wet season has arrived) and doing a brick: ride / run. We only have a week left until our tri and I am getting pretty excited. We missed training last week due to flooding, but are getting back into it today. My team is now down to two of us, with three having dropped out due to fears of not being able to make it to the end. It would have been easy to say "bugger it, I'm out" as well, but coming here and reading all your posts every day gave me the encouragement to keep going. I don't care if I even have to crawl across the finish line, so long as I get across it. So thanks guys!

Regular ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Had a good workout yesterday. This weekend has yet to form itself as when I try to plan something it usually goes to hell.. So letting things come to me and see how that goes. Would love to go for a 20mil bike ride but weather might dampen that. |

Member ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Nothing exciting here this weekend. I did my PT test yesterday and passed with my highest score ever! I cut almost 2 minutes off of my run time from 6 months ago! My tri-team coach wanted a 1k TT swim time turned in, so I did that at lunch. I was planning to go for a run after work but got off later than expected due to one of my troops needing to talk about some concerns he has been having. I will make that up tomorrow! Oh - my kids got wetsuits today!! My daughters suit is a little big so we'll certainly get our money's worth out of it since it will fit her for some time. They have a tri next month that we are getting ready for! |

Extreme Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Finished my ladder speed work run tonight. Warmed up 2 mile run, the 5 minutes at 150 heart rate, 5 minutes at 130 heart rate, 4 minutes as above, then 3, 2, and 1 minutes. Cool down for 10 minutes at 130. Sounded a lot easier than it turned out to be. |

Member ![]() ![]() | ![]() I woke up this morning to 50 degrees and sunshine, great running weather! Unfortunately, I stepped outside into a wall of smoke. A wildfire started yesterday not far from my house, and dense smoke is covering the area
If it doesn't clear up by tomorrow morning, I'll be doing my six miles on a dreadmill |
