Well alrighty then, margaritas all around. Spin class was fun (only one girl besides me ). Kind of a small crowd today but that's not unusual for this time of year. They'll all come back on Jan. 2nd. I didn't do new music, I was too tired (go figure!) so I used an existing playlist. |

Not even in sparco yellow? How can a girl turn down sparco yelllow? And he does have nice legs... There's something about this dude's legs that freak me out, I think it's the fact that his calves are as big as his quads. thats not normal? I think my calves are bigger than my quads.... someone once commented on it.... hmmm... me thinks Im odd... Okay, I got the measuring tape out... my calves are 16.5 and my thigh 21.5... granted I'm carrying some fat, but even when my BF% was down I'm sure my uper leg was at least slightly bigger than my lower... Well, everyone's different, I think that's why they call us "INDIVIDUALS". |

OMG, it truly is 90% arms and 10% legs!!!! Without even doing flip turns, my average 100m time was 2.5 mins. I am floating on air, I am SOOOO excited!!

Do you know how many years it has taken for me to struggle with freestyle, wondering why I just couldn't get it??? Now I just need to have my shoulders cooperate (but I have my first appointment with the sports therapist on Friday). December challenge, here come the TwisNibbins! If I recall correctly.... you said you messed it up doing water jogging? Do you think it's the rotator cuff? Or something else? Good luck on Friday. |

Oh wait, I don't have to get in the pool, not a goal. Though I guess if I want to do a tri next year, I should still learn how to swim I have to say, all the talk is getting me a little hyped. Well, gotta join in the rat race at work. Later

Champion 23360 Taser-World | Subject: RE: They Who Shall not be Named II HCS5QA - 2007-11-13 4:06 PM Hard to answer without ever really having done one. I've been hitting all areas and making good progress. I think swimming is my weakest area but I will continue to hit it the rest of the month. So I guess swimming is my nervous area as I have yet to do any OWS and I still need to try on my wetsuit, which I have not done either. Re the comments on sighting while in open water.... IF you breath towards the "shore side", you can sometimes use the shore line as a guide. This may help you swim straighter. Ie: you breathe and at the same time, visually check that: a) You're paralleling the shore b) You're always staying relatively the same distance away from the beach This only works with a straight shore line, obviously. LOL Also, this doesn't take into account waves.... If there are big waves (like I suspect there are in CA - you're better off breathing on the side where they don't hit you smack in the face! LOL) (I've never done a tri. But I have done some ocean swims. And I suspect it will be tougher to do this while you're surrounded by 400 people! But I thought it might be worth mentioning, as an idea.) Also, your buoyancy will change between salt and fresh water. You'll be more buoyant in salt/ocean water. (Actually - you probably know about this from diving, already.) Dee Edited by D001 2007-11-13 6:50 PM |

I almost ALWAYS swim off course in open water because I dont site... i should but Im just so used to pool swimming... as long as you make sure you do site and dont trust that you are swimming in a straight line youll be ok... You may not realise you adjust your stroke to swim in a straight line in a pool butwithout the black line to follow you all of a sudden realise you do! |
