GoooooOOOOOONADS!

Oh, um, I forgot the space. Oops...

No run yesterday, just got off a brutal backpack/rescue mission. I've cleared everything off the schedule for the morning, though, so it's me, the deer, the snakes, and the road through the mountains. Yay!

Hi Everyone,

Another 12 year old at heart, checking in ! (I actually think most guys never get past the maturity level of a 12 year old - my wife and I regularly laugh at this - I will often do something and she will just look at me and mention,,,,,"Yep....12 years old!". I'm good with that - I don't want to grow up!).

Nice to meet everyone (although I already know BunnyB - Hi Melissa!).

Revbigdog - Thanks for being our captain!

Dr Hammer - Glad to hear you are moving forward after the thyroid scare. I had my own battle with with bladder cancer in 2007 - Had a surgery to deal with it and I've also been able to move on past it - hang in there!

I am training for the NYC marathon (Nov 2), and I am way behind in my training. I have been nursing some injuries on both feet for a few months and I'm trying to work through it. I am hoping that this Sept challenge will help me stay on track (note: beat me up if am not getting my miles in!).

Danny

You want to be beaten up, go check out the WCP&T thread. There's some motivation for you!

Anywho, 2.25 miles for me! Already .25 mi ahead of schedule - any bets on how long THAT will last?

Hi - Welcome aboard new nads Just got back from the beach and 8 miles total boardwalk running. How's everyone doing 3 days into this?? It's supposed to be high in the 90's here in NJ which is kinda warm but it'll be lovely running in the cool morning air. If I get out of bed.
Happy running, nads!

How are we reporting our mileage?  Once a week?  In this thread? Or daily?

I have 11 miles so far this week.  I plan to run 3-4 times a week (that 4rth run frequently never happens).  I am starting Bikram Yoga 2 nights/week, hopefully still swim 2-3 times, and I would like to be riding my bike, but it is getting no love at the moment....

Anybody else have a busy life that seems to interfere with their workout shedule???

Dan

In regards to reporting:  if a daily checkin helps hold you accountable - by all means, do that here.  I will check logs weekly before submitting to Shawn.  If you do not currently log your runs/training (shame on you Tongue out), post in the thread about your distances and accomplishments.

On a side note, my leg is getting better and almost fully healed.

Another big bad two miler down the drain! Woo-hoo! I think I'm up to a whopping 4.35 or something like that. Oh well, at least I'm getting out there and healing.

Glad to hear your leg is healing up, too, rev!

Dear Team Captains,

This is the first weekend of reporting.  Please email me your results by Sunday.  The earlier the better!!

My email is shawnbarr99@ yahoo.com.

What I need:

·         Each team members name and their miles run from 9/1 to 9/6

It would be a good idea if you PM all your team members today and remind them to post their miles asap and definitely before Saturday night.

Thanks for being a captain!! Please let me know if you have questions.

Thanks!!

ps...whew, this community organizer stuff is hard work :-)

OHHHHH - Team Captains,

If your team members do NOT have anything posted by Saturday night.  Just send me what they have; even if it is ZERO.

There's no way I or you can wait around for people to post their miles.

Having a big, fat ZERO or forgetting to log miles will be great fodder for Harassment and Trash Talking next week.

Thanks!!

Ps...once I have your numbers and post results on Monday, I will not make adjustment for people who whine, "I forgot to post my miles."  Babies.

Runnin' god has spoken.

5k PR for me today!!!

DH and I ran a tiny local 5k this morning.  There were only 35 runners total.  I lined up in the back, but quickly passed a lot of people.  Only 2 guys passed me though.  I went a lot harder than I usually do, but I kind of wanted to see what I was able to do.  This was my best time since '05.  Yay!  I ended up 18th of 35, and Jeremy was 6th of 35.
