Subject: RE: Ditch Cable for Hulu/Netflix

We just ditched DirectTV, we almost never watched live TV and used the DVR religiously.

I have a laptop that I would hook up to our TV already to stream blacked out games if I could find them already.

Currently almost any show that we regularly watched is now available to stream from the Networks website.

The only big issue is the three or four shows we watch on USA network.  They don't make shows available until 30days after the show airs and wasn't available earlier on Hulu or Hulu+.  We found that we could purchase a season pass for the shows on ITunes and whenever a new episode became available it downloads automatically.  So we purchased the shows we watch and paid anywhere from 20-30 bucks each.  Seems like a lot but that's 3 shows for 1 season at about $80 instead of spending $60/mth for TV so in the end it works out.

The only thing I miss are live sports on ESPN, FOX Sports, and Universal Sports.  I need to get an HD attenna for the Network games but the cable ones I would like to figure out a way to stream them somehow.
