If you didn't exercise and were thinking about it I think it would discourage people from starting an exercise program, thinking they will gain weight. I think it was very unbalanced. If it's so true how come at a road race or triathlon the crowd is so fit and these people exercise hours upon hours a week? Because the article is wrong. I can't wait to see the letters to the editor on this one.

This reminds me of the current Time magazine cover which is about how exercise is bad for weightloss.
Like this article there are valid points but the article just becomes something to sensationalize the point like people have commented here.
Short version of the Time article.. people have no will power so after they go to the gym and burn off 500 calories they go to starbucks and consume 1000 calories in a latte and muffin that they rationalize they can have since they just worked out. I get the point that due to this common a occurrence that exercise doesn't always equal weight loss but they discounted the benefits of exercise way to much with just a little blurb at the end about yeah its good for your heart..
