Subject: RE: What do you tell people, when they ask how you did?I've only done one so far but I've been suprised how many people have asked me about it. So, it's nice they ask, but I'm pretty sure they don't really want to know much. I've just sortof naturally tailored responses to the askee: like my chiropractor whos' into cycling, or my friend who does marathons...they want the gorey details - and they appreciate the effort. Just about everyone else gets the, "It went really well, no disasters, fun day all around."
What I've noticed though is that they all seem to think I'm over it now...like I'm done. lol! So wierd. After all this investment: physically, mentally, emotionally, financially there's no way I'm bagging it now! Gotta beat my time! Gotta do an OLY next year! But I've been keeping that to myself too.
It's almost like a protective thing I guess. Like nobody really appreciates how hard I've worked, and how much this means to me. I'm sick of feeling like I have to justify or explain why I'm doing this, and/or being dissapointed by people who express an interest but fail to follow through with action.
Oh well, what matters is what you do, not what you say. Walk like you talk - or better yet, don't talk at all: just get out there and run/cycle/swim!!
