Got a quick 2 miles in walking the hallways during my Prep period. Why did it take me longer than out on the Valley Rd course? I suspect it is because I am simply walking laps in an enclosed hallway and have no way to judge my pace. |

Extreme Veteran 1150 Nisbet, PA | Subject: RE: 22/31 + 10% December challenge Right now I feel like such a hypocrite. I started this regular monthly Challenge thread of my own. And yet, since I started it, I have only met my own challenge one month out of the last four, none since September. Each month has started off great. But about halfway to two-thirds of the way through the month it just peters out, like this month when I only got 14 out of my planned 22 workout days in and nothing for over a week now. Then all this crap with WTC taking over B2B and losing my intended HIM. It really dropped a wet blanket on my motivation, and the way things went with our daughter and her family for Christmas didn't help that any. Robin, thanks for caring enough to keep "pestering" me back into it. New plan for 2016 still has the February Idita-Trail race, a May sprint, a June 10k, July's 40k time trial, and my A-race will be the local Lumberjack sprint now. Unless I find something extraordinary in Oct/Nov 2016 I am now planning to switch my HIM to early 2017. But first, I HAVE to actually meet my upcoming January challenge, fighting my way through all the "Resolutionists" at the YMCA. |

But first, I HAVE to actually meet my upcoming January challenge, fighting my way through all the "Resolutionists" at the YMCA. Don't feel this way. This is why it's called "challenge", and not just a tracking of monthly training activities. Training for triathlon is not easy-breezy. It takes a lot of time, commitment, sacrifice. It gets harder for us who work and/or have family and school, or health issues. I'm sorry about you Christmas family situation. My dad died just a week before Christmas and I was not able to focus on any training for over a week. There will always be things that would either slow us down or keep away from training. Sometimes it may be something silly like weather condition. But every month we keep going I am actually very thankful for you for doing this challenge posts I am new to the sport and this challenge helps me stay focused. I have not completed 22 days, but I did 14. Last year in December I did none... You have some great races coming up next year. Keep doing this great job. I am looking forward to January challenge!! |

Extreme Veteran 1150 Nisbet, PA | Subject: RE: 22/31 + 10% December challenge Wow! Thank you so much Mary. Community support is the biggest reason I stay in the BT community. As the nearest tri club to me is over two hours away, you folks really are the only "training partners" that I have. |
