Got my point for yesterday! Calorie goal was 1,600; I ate 1,166. Guess my cold is knocking my appetite down.

Good work, Barb! I added your bonus point to the spreadsheet.

I didn't do so good after dinner last night. I think the weight gain frustrated me and I decided to feed it! I'm actually down three pounds today. So I guess it's water weight. On the other hand, I need to tighted up my food portions and after dinner snacking to lose real weight.

Good going, Tri and Barb!

Mary, I've done that too (eaten when I'm frustrated with the scale), and have also sometimes seen a big loss after I eat a little more, so I'm trying to incorporate a high-calorie day once a week in case there's a biological reason for that (maybe it's a signal to your body that it's OK, there's still food available, we're not going into a famine). The scale can be really frustrating, because it doesn't always reward our efforts right away. In fact, I've heard that your body will sometimes hold onto extra water for a few days as you're dropping pounds, before it will let that water weight go, too. I'm glad it finally showed you the 3 pound loss you earned!

Well, yesterday made it 5 in a row for me, which is quite an accomplishment for me! I'm going to keep the streak going! Tomorrow night my Mom has offered to take us out to dinner. I'm actually nervous about it - I'm worried that if I get out of my current habits, which are working, will it throw me off course? But I'm telling myself no, you can do this! I'll plan today where I want to go and what I want to eat, and tomorrow is my high-calorie day, which also gives me some leeway.

Lori, I hope you enjoyed your meal out! Your calorie planning sounds very practical.

I'm reverting to my earlier goal of planning what I eat after dinner and eating to plan. Not eating is too hard. And I'll add eating two pieces of fruit a day to my goals.

Hi Mary,

Yes, I had a lovely dinner out!  Got my point for Saturday, but unfortunately not for Sunday or yesterday.  Yesterday I didn't plan my meals, but also didn't eat excessively.  My goal was 1,600 calories and I ate 1,788, so I didn't get my point but I also wasn't wildly off track.

I see that you've been on track - congrats!

Hey Lori, glad you had a good dinner out! And close counts with the food stuff--our bodies are thanking us for moderation.

I felt crummy yesterday and didn't want to clutter my life with a bunch of food rules. Interesting how resentful I can get about rules I set myself! Anyway, I ate light but didn't have a salad and only ate one fruit. Feeling better today and will get in that salad and more fruit.
