Congrats to everyone that came out today.  What a beautiful day....a little chilly to start but the water wasn't bad.  I finished in 2:17 and was really happy with my time.  I would have liked to meet up with some of you but it was a crazy day afterwards with the kids.  I am sure we passed each other at some point during the day.  Anyway, congrats to all of you!!

This was the last tri scheduled for the year and would like to get another in but haven't been able to find one to fit my schedule.  I am doing the DM half mary in Oct but are there any other local races in Sept??

Fun race! My time was 2:06:42. I'm happy with it. Good first time at a longer distance.

Nice to meet you kklems!

Mapping out the bike and run, they should add another loop to the bike, and extend the run to make it a full Olympic distance. The Bike was actually 18.95mi, and the Run was 5.65mi. Another loop to the bike would make it 25.02mi. The turnaround for the run could easily be extended to get a full 6.2mi. (not that I needed a longer run that day!) This could be a great place for a "real" USAT race. Really good spot with a fast course!

I also liked the mass start. Scary, crowded, rough, and FUN!

I'm pleased that the race organizers have listened to the participants over the years and improved the bike and run courses as well as adding more aid stations this year.  I didn’t love the mass swim start and I’m fairly experienced swimmer.  The hair-pin turn is a bit dangerous as I clipped arms with another swimmer as I was heading back to shore – perhaps and off-set buoy to avoid a potential head-on collision.

The organizers just need to dial in the distances to be accurate – I agree about increasing the bike to a 40K to make it a true Oly.  Once this is done, they should try to get it to be USAT certified.  It will then draw more people.

Great post-race goodies for all – just need to create a bigger “buzz” at the finish line.

I did see a black squirrel as I was packing up my gear!!!
