Well - you make sure your veggies are clean, throw them in the steamer, and turn the steamer on. It's that easy.

For me with my steamer - carrots (home grown, so not completely huge) take 10 minutes ... asparagus, beans, broccoli, etc, take about 7 minutes, spinach/kale takes 2-3 minutes ... super easy/fast.

DolphinGirl - Have you had a thyroid panel done lately?  I have hypothyroidism too and when I start to notice dizziness/nauseau, its normally because my thyroid levels are off and my meds need adjusting....

Nope, no panels recently.  Last check I know I was still way off that scale but the closest I have been in a long time.  Although, that was before starting to work out.  I will be having bloodwork done here soon.

That's too funny, Bill - I went shopping for 30 minutes yesterday.  20 min in fruits/veggies, 5 min in the rest of the store and 5 minutes checking out.  Yaaay, veggies!

I have been eating more fruits and veggies and am feeling much better.  I am eating more protien in the AM and am finding the mid morning lull after my cereal fuel runs out is going away.  I also started reading on what is good and bad to eat for someone who has hypothyroid (something I should have been reading the past 20 yrs).

I am going to pick up some brown rice and try steaming some food for dinner tonight after I get done teaching.
