crpatterson, I would suggest to just put what's on the label into the custom food spot, ie as 'total carbohydrates'.  Although it stated that everything may not add up to 'total carbohydrates' (from the difference method), we don't know the error associated with that per food.

I guess the feildname for that custom feild can cause confusion (too much information and we just used what the dbase provided as a default), perhaps i'll just change it to 'Total Carbohydrate' like the nutition label.

Ron,  queried roast beef and several of the roasts in the top of the list will not add to the log.

I found one that was close to what I had and when I hit"add", a "page not available" screen came up.

This happened 3 times then I got one it would take.

Food for thought.

We were able to reproduce that and have corrected it.

Let me know if it occurs again.

From a user:

After entering a new custom food, the only option is "<< Back to training log". I'm finding that I am entering a custom food during my meal entry, so having to go all the way to the top training log and back into nutrition -> edit is a significant amount of steps. Perhaps a better way would be if entering the new custom food would be to at least reenter the meal being edited, or if not possible, at least remain in the nutrition hierachy.

I added a custom food, and now I can't add any more custom foods. I like chickpea stew but ...

Thanks ! This is a great feature!

Just want to confirm that it's the 'Custom Food' option and not the 'Custom Meal'

I went into your acct and was able to create a 'Custom Food'...see attached...I deleted it though.

Let me know if I'm on-base or describe in detail what exactly happens.

Ron...one very general suggestion for the nutrition logs...I've found FitDay.com to be a very user friendly format and interface and I like the daily running summary in both tabular and pie chart format.  I find it very useful to have both the amount (grams) and %total for each macronutrient updated as I log foods.

Calories Eaten Today
sourcegrams cals%total
Total: 1719
Fat:54 483 29%
  Sat:43 3%
  Poly:21 191 11%
  Mono:59 4%
Carbs:162 550 33%
  Fiber:25 0%
Protein:159 635 38%
Alcohol:0%
Calorie Breakdown
Calorie Pie-Chart
 Fat Carbs
 Protein Alcohol

One thing FitDay doesn't do that I think the BT logs do is allow us to build a custom meal (retaining the individual ingredients).  I can create a custom food on FitDay but unless I remember exactly what the ingredients are and how much of each it's tough to recreate that meal when I want to eat it again.

Looks like we need to finish this up:

Hey this is “abtuser” and from the Edit Custom Meals screen (http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/training/edit-custommeals.asp) we only have the option to go back to the training log.  Can you add a link at the bottom to go back to the Edit Meal screen (http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/training/edit-meal.asp)?
