I'm new to this movie thing, but I am thinking of taking my boat out on IMMOO morning for the swim portion and I do have a video camera (DVD type). I haven't solidified plans for that, but it is possible. Are you looking to film certain people or just the entire event? Like I said, I am new to this.....!

Wow, I hadn't even considered a boat. Anyone know how close boats are allowed to get to the action if they're not there for lifeguard duty?

We volunteered on our boat two years ago - the windy, rainy day when the anchors wouldn't hold..... Very stressful. Anyway, I think as long as you're outside the swim area and not interfering with the kayaks, volunteer boats and swimmers, etc. you can get pretty close.

Have fun!

Hey folks! I'm rounding out my plan for shooting doc footage at IMMOO and just wanted to know if anyone else was interested in helping out. So far, I have the following donks who have expressed an interest:

PeterAK
AmyJo
maggyruth
Force

All these folks are also volunteering so you don't have to commit for a full day. I also need people who may be willing to loan their digital DV video camera to the cause for the day. Oh, and I know it's a lot to ask, but would anyone be willing to loan an SUV with rear window that flips up or convertible to the cause. Otherwise, I may have to rent one.

Thanks!
SD

I have a Tourag, you can use that...or I can drive you in the 911...depends on my hip, if I can shift, if not Steve may be able to drive you around some. Let me know! (and we did not steal the 911 from Charles Benson!! lol...!!)

A 911? I'm trying to be INCONSPICUOUS!

Thanks for the offer but I'm planning to use Scott's Explorer.

Scoob, I've got a digital video camera and despite my schedule (got to go to Milwaukee for a charity 2 miler) I'll be there for the swim start and then again later in the PM.  I'd be happy to do some filming if you like.

That would be awesome, Jesse. Please plan to shoot whatever you catches your interest. I can always use more footage, in addition to what I have in mind for the core "Shoot Plan" which I will be posting later.

Whooo! What a day! Like everyone else, I'm completely dead tired from following all the excitement yesterday. If just being a spectator is so draining, I can't imagine what it's like for those who actually did the event. Congratulations to everyone, but especially mutri, tripletmom01 and djdavey-- you guys ROCK!

In addition, I want to send out a special shout-out to the following donks for all their help in covering IMMOO for the documentary...

PeterAK: Thank you SOOO much, dude! Your insight, ideas and willingness to be Assistant Donkrector were indispensible.

DeannaS: the BEST stunt driver EVAH!

Birkierunner: Thanks for the interview!

sgoehner (Thanks for letting us use the truck, Scott!)

And the rest of the Crew...

AmyJo, JCow, Mr. Cowdy, Maggyruth, force and everyone else helped... THANK YOU!

Now the REAL work begins, editing the over 45 hours of raw footage into a final movie. That's going to take a while, so don't expect a final piece soon, although I may let The Donks see some pieces along the way.

As for now, I'm taking a nap.
