I hate getting out of bed early. It's cold, and I've got a warm snuggly hubby that hates getting up too - no help there. The one thing that helps me do it is to lay out my running (or whatever) gear the night before. As close to the bed as possible so that there is very little "cold naked time" between electric blanket and heading out the door. I also try to remember how much I like it once I'm out there and how happy I am with myself when I'm coming back in the front door. Laying out the gear works better though. No looking for the other sock, no groping around in the dark for the right tights or whatever.

Anyone got any Magic Health Pills? I'm on Day 9 of the Virulent Plague and can't remember what the outdoors looks like. Cough. Hack. Sniff.

Happy New Year.

I have a small question - are there any tips for making the early morning starts easier? Getting out of bed in the morning has never been my strong point at the best of times!

Thanks

Cat

Early morning workouts are evil and counter productive. They should be avoided at all costs and any triathlete that subscribes to them should be shunned.

Seriously, I have no tips. I hate getting up to workout. I will take a 6 mile run at 10 p.m. over a 7 a.m. run any day of the week....and frequently do.

hehe I love that no one else likes early mornings either. Ive just finished my second morning workout and must admit I like it when its finished....it will be harder in winter I imagine!

And courtney you are right...having my partner knowing whether i got up or not and KNOWING he will question it if he wakes up and Im still there gets my out. Not quite an evil coach but will do for now Hes never trained or exercised in his life so there is no reasoning with him!

Hey Chip!! Things are dampish here in Oregon.  Too wet to ride, not deep enough to swim. Guess I'll run...  I suppose I shouldn't complain. Wet is better than the black ice you've been having. And 33? BBBrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!

It's all relative, I guess.. I lived in "the other Portland" before I moved to NJ, and it's pretty nice in comparison to that. Well, from a winter weather perspective, anyway. That's as far as I'll go.

Thanks, by the way, for the note in the logs- very nice to see that!

Dennis-

I have a question about the bike aid stations at IMLP.. I assume they pass out the Gatorade Endurance at the aid stations, but do they hand them out in bottles? Can you go aid station-to-aid station using just the bottles they hand out?

Thanks!
Chip
