Hey there. I LOVE this show!

I was wondering about that Moira thing too.

As to what happened to the original doctor and his wife - it was in one of the first episodes. Her child died and her husband (the doctor) was addicted to chlorophom (spelling?) and trying to play frankenstein in his basement. He got the baby back to life as some sort of monster (I think the thing that appeared in the basement during the first episode). Then his wife killed first him and then shot herself. So yeah. That's what happened to them

About the leaving the house thing. How comes that Violet can sit at Constance's table but then again she claims not to be able to leave the house?

Good call on the first doctor and his wife. There's so much to remember, it's hard to keep track.

I'm not sure Violet ever visited Constance after she overdosed, did she? I thought that happened when she was still alive.

Hmm not 100% sure but I thought Violet was at Constance's house just a couple of episodes ago. Didn't she ask Constance for help to fight off the gays who wanted to steal her mom's babies? Gosh I guess I'll have to watch it again. Every time I watch it i see new things

She did - but it was all at the mansion, not at Constance's house. Constance didn't know Violet was dead, but the psychic picked up on it right away, hence the meaningful glances and double entendre comments.

They set up the offspring to be a real "Damien" kind of character - pure evil, which makes sense given the father's story. I think they can keep going back to the house with him exploring the ghosts and getting "mentored" by both the good and the bad ones, as well as by the grandmother (who has her own special kind of evil going on).

See, I thought that the evil child would just be a great way of ending the storyline of this whole cast. It kind of leaves a creepy open ending while putting a bow on the whole season. I actually think they answered too many questions with this house and set of characters to continue in this direction in future seasons. Only so many people could have lived and died in this one house, and let's face it, too many people are dying around Constance under mysterious circumstances for the police not to act.

The police already suspected her after her boytoy turned up dead. I agree, the tone has to change overall, since we have all those backstories. But they have some interesting possibilities, with the boy's parents both now being ghosts next door, and Constance still wanting contact with Tate, so she won't leave. She might even help Tate to get people into the house, or she might try to get back in herself.

I think Moira is one of the ghosts who is aware of her status (there was a line in the series about how some of the ghosts don't realize they are dead) and therefore she has some control of her appearance. Remember she shows up as a superhottie to men, and until the father rejected her, he could not see her as she wanted to be seen.

Hmm, I think that line was specifically to set up the twist where Violet turned out to be dead but didn't know it. I can't think of a single other ghost in the house that doesn't know they are dead. I believe it turned out that even Tate actually knew he was dead, though I'm not positive-- that was ostensibly the reason Constance was sending him to the psychiatrist.

I am not sure if the original doctor's wife knows she is dead. And of course, there are several cognitively impaired ghosts as well. And Moira said something to the current wife about having to decide to be seen by the living in that last episode, which allows them to have ghosts we haven't met yet.

I don't think any of the spirits can leave the house, except on Halloween. That was part of the point of that episode (and the reason for the comment the one gay dude made to Tate (or vice versa?) about not being able to hook up with anyone that year). But on Halloween all the spirits are allowed to roam the earth - and the dead kids had been looking for Tate for years.

Great call. Yep, I forgot that.

Wikipedia refers to an interview where the creators say that the intention is to have each season be a standalone plot with it's own set of characters.

There may be some characters who cross-over, but they stated that the Harmon story is done.

There will be a new location and cast.

Yep, that's what it sure felt like to me and I think it's a great decision. I will miss all those characters, though.

Hope they can come up with a story line and characters that are just as interesting for Season #2!

I thought it was goodbye with the Harmons. But I think they left it open to bring Constance and her satanic child back into the story. What do you guys think?

I think the Damien kid was just the writers' way of saying "the evil in that house will go on". It was just the creepy final bow on that story. I don't think we'll see Constance or the kid again, or at least not as major players. Shame, because Jessica Lange was really, really good in that role and I've never been a fan of hers before.

Here is the link to the story that they will be making each season a stand alone. Which is brilliant - closer to the way most british series are done, and making it easier for someone to jump in at a later season and still get hooked. Or to recover from a weak story line (I'm looking at you, Lost) by knowing they don't have to make some crazy story line to recover.

Thanks for the link. Interesting article, though I'm surprised by the slightly negative tone in the opening. Although I'll admit, I'm a big fan of the show.

We also wondered why Moira aged and wanted her body moved.

I did like the way they tied in the Dahlia murder since it is a case that has never been solved.

It will be interesting to see if any of the cast is in the new project even though we know the characters would be different.

Also interesting the director said it could be some other location. I would think a hospital/asylum/prison would be a place full of 'bad' spirits. The title of the show makes sense now that it is not house specific but Horror Story.

Just my interpretation: I thought Moira didn't want her body to be moved. I thought she wanted it to be found. The police had already suspected Constance to be involved in Moira's and Constance's husband's disappearance. Not sure though. Your thoughts?
