Veteran 101 Lansdale | Subject: RE: BT nike+ DECEMBER challenges I just went to sync my run today and it gave me that error message that my data couldn't be uploaded to the Nike servers because it couldn't be validated or something. This is the first time I've had this problem. Anyone else have it happen and fix it? EDIT: Got off the phone with Nike+ support, they couldnt do anything and referred me to Apple. They wanted to charge me 49 bucks for the support but then figured out there was nothing they could do if iTunes could access the internet fine. I just tried a new run just to get data and upload it. It seemed to work but now I lost all the run data on my iPod. ARGGHH!! I'm just gonna reset my iPod and start from scratch. Edited by kettlebellcrazy 2006-12-06 4:41 PM |

It seemed to work but now I lost all the run data on my iPod. ARGGHH!! I'm just gonna reset my iPod and start from scratch. That's exactly what happened to me. I went through all the apple steps, including reinstalling iTunes and the flash player. Then went to nike and sent an email. They replied back with a link to the apple troubleshooting article I started with. (One of the apple solutions is to restore the iPod, but FIRST go to another article for information on saving the data. How???? Upload to nikeplus before restoring! Gee, thanks for the help.) The only step I have not completed is to create a new run, and see if it won't upload all the missing data. Not holding my breath. I think proof of my record-breaking run sleeps with the fishes. (Honest, it was THAT fast!) |

Veteran 101 Lansdale | Subject: RE: BT nike+ DECEMBER challenges wow rjba, that sucks! at least my run was short and crappy for me. i hate running in cold weather but i will learn to like it or die trying. we'll see how a run in the morning tomorrow before work feels. i dont have time at night because i get out of work at 730 and get home about 8. hopefully my next run works out. i reformatted my iPod and reset iTunes. it's also really annoying that there is no manual way to upload run data. Let me know how that works out. It happened again today, and this time it was another 5K personal best--crushing the "old" record by over 3 minutes. Alas. I checked the Apple website to get directions for reformatting the iPod, and came across a forum in which several people had written in that this was happening a lot all of a sudden. Anybody else in here seeing it? |

Just sending the data would not get the runs posted to my logs, but I did find a way to do it, so now my data is complete. As you can see, the challenge leaders have nothing to fear from me, but it is gratifying the be able to see the fruits of my labors! |

Regular 53 Chico,Ca/Encinitas,Ca | Subject: RE: BT nike+ DECEMBER challenges I was wondering if the people that are having problems uploading data are using a Mac or Windows based computer? I run a iBook and have never had any problems uploading(knock on wood) so maybe its an operating system problem. |

I think the problem was on the Nike servers, and it appears it might be corrected. Keith, were you able to get the missing data uploaded, or was it destroyed when you reset your nano? It was destroyed when I reset my nano. No problems again since then. I forgot my iPod today when I went to the gym today though. |

molto veloce mama 9311 | Subject: RE: BT nike+ DECEMBER challenges i have read that the times on the nano itself will sometimes be a bit different than what ends up on the nike+ site. not sure how or why that is. i have also noticed that the pace the nike+ site gives me is usually a second or so faster than my pace if i use the calculator here or on the tri calculator i use (http://www.bx3.com/phil/tri/tritime.asp). my guess is that the nano and nike+ site use slightly different formulas for calculating pace/time. i will have to google around to see if i can find where i read this. |
