Had a really short and slow ride today...not on purpose but a girlfriend really wanted to ride with me and fat tire bike slowed me WAAAYYY down. Oh well...at least I'm sharing my love of the bike. Got a few more really flat stages (Im on vacation at the beach in St. Augustine) and then I head into the Pyrenees of Central Florida (a few very small hills in Clermont...but its all we got down here!)

Wanna give a shout out to our teammate PeggyF whose got her first OLY in TN tomorrow...she said the hills were making her nervous but I know she will kick ! I mean she is on the BEST team EVER for the Tdf ))

At least here, it was a beautiful weekend.  I had a nightmare ride yesterday, but a very nice run this morning.  How did everybody else do this weekend?

One of us did Mossman today too - how did that go?

This challenge has been great for getting my biking milage up - I'll have done almost half of last years miles in just these three weeks!!

Go get 'em team.
Bruce.

Whew!  My OLY on Sunday was one he!! of a race -- very hilly for a central FL girl (flat, flat roads here) and hot, hot, hot!  But I made it!  The first and hardest hill had a 6% grade most of the way and ended with a 9% grade!  It went up 1400 ft.  I just kept my head down (so I couldn't see how far I had to go) and pedaled -- can't believe I made it!!  Tongue out  The run on the other hand was horrific because of the heat - but feel really proud of the ride!

Hey all, Mossman was great.  I did a strong swim and bike but my run brought me down.  Have to keep working it!

I hear ya on the run!  I had a great swim and bike, too, but my run totally stunk - I could have walked as fast as my so-called run!!  It was just too stinking hot.  I've got to get better at running.  But for now I'm enjoying a bike focus!!

I've been without internet for most of the past week and visiting my son in TN so haven't done much other than the tri on Sunday - with my son (Wesmaster) - Wesley - who, btw, has finally filled out his goal!!!  He was without internet too.  Traveling back to Orlando tomorrow and then hopefully on Thursday, back, on the bike.  Have to get up early since its so freaking hot here in the SE.  The TdF has been extremely unpredictable this year with all the crashes!!  Two days ago was awful!!!  I absolutely couldn't believe it when that freaking car ran into the lead group!  Hope it settles down somewhat in that regard.  Waiting for the Pyrenees (not sure on the spelling!).

Be back on Thursday, until then - GO LEOPARD TREK!!

Stage 5 is done - almost half way!  I live in Florida and it is soooo HOT here!  Got in from TN late last night so I didn't get up early enough.  Started about 10 - it was way too hot (90) - so cut the ride short.   Will start much earlier tomorrow  (hopefully sunrise).

My ride in Lake Placid had to be cancelled due to family emergencies.  Everybody is recovering, so that's good.

My bike got to spend 12 hours hanging off the back of the car Tuesday.  I got no rest until Thursday, and I'm still out of sorts today.  And I have a court appearance today.

If I get permission from the wife, I'll do a second stage today to clear my head and get me back on track.

Stage 6 - 52 miles today!  Half way through.  Started off at 6:00 a.m. with a flat tire after yesterday's ride ... yuck.  I've never changed a tire before so I had my phone out and did a u-tube search and followed the steps.  Luckily for me it was my front tire.  So it was a first for me!!!  Yay!!   BTW - how about our team in the real tour -- going strong: 2nd and 4th places!!  Yay Leopard Trek.

Hi all - hope you don't mind but Danielle and I carried forward the totals so that we'd have an accurate percentage for this week.  Out of all the teams, the only other team that shows everyone on the board is Team Sky -- we're doing GREAT!!

Ok Team - here is our standings:

Garmin – 66.58%
Quickstep – 58%
Leopard Trek – 44%
Liquigas – 38%
Sky – 26%
BMC – 25%

Not too far off first ... right on the wheels on Quickstep, but we need a good attack on Garmin.  WE CAN DO IT!!! Let's go Leopard Trek!!!

Stage 8 done!  13 miles.  Just a short ride -- still recovering from my longest ride ever - 52 miles - on Friday!  I love this challenge!  It's really got me riding.  Every night I watch the Tour and then every morning it's ride time!!  We're up to 50% with one more week to go.  Come on team!!

That's what I've been doing which lines up with my training week.  It doesn't really matter in the end though.  Challenge ends next Sunday no matter what.

Yeah, I think Cat will only use the 'totals' to determine the challenge winner(s).

Hi guys,

Sorry I've been MIA. I was on my ipad for the past few days and couldn't update the spreadsheet.

I won't be hitting my goals for the month. My sessions have been a little bit shorter than originally planned so far and I've only got 6 days left before Lake Placid so I won't be making up the volume that was left out! The good news is my last session for the Tour will be over 6hrs long...haha.

Hope everyone else is training hard!

Finished my tour today! And a good thing too because it just came up that I have to fly to Boston tomorrow and won't have a bike until Monday....pheww! Made it by the skin of my teeth. Good luck to everyone as we spend a few days in the Alps. And good luck to Melissa on her IronMan on Sunday!!

Finished my tour today!  Yay!!  Will probably get a few more miles before Sunday, but for now I've done 12 stages and 200 miles!  Pretty happy with the mileage I've done this month.  Enjoying the tour both virtually and in real life.  Looking forward to tomorrow's stage!

Team standings as best as I can tell:

1. Garmin 90.01% complete
2. Liquigas 73.37%
3. Quickstep 71.65%
4. Leopard Trek 66.79%
5. Sky 49.69%
6. BMC - can't tell from their spreadsheet

For all teams, I did not include data from riders who completed less than 10% of their stated goal.

My best guess at team standings...Liquigas is challenging Garmin for the win!

1. Garmin 93.75% (1 rider at 100%)
2. Liquigas 91.52%??? (no riders at 100%)
2. Quickstep 73.78% (2 riders at 100%)
3. Leopard trek 66.79% (2 riders at 100%)
4. Sky 55.84 or 58.10% (looks like they lost half their team)
5. BMC 60.63%???? (1 rider at 100%)

I'm falling a little short of my goals - I'm at 68% (or so) I'm hoping to get an earlier start tomorrow so that I can get in a longer ride.  Personal and family issues have really prevented me from getting out earlier in the day.  Not so bad, but even at 9:30, it was close to 90F!  I was cooking by the time I rolled home.  I think tomorrow is supposed to be the same or a little worse.
