Welcome Scot! Now, BRING IT!

(You know you are taking on the "Queen of Planks", don't you?? I'm having shirts made.)

Can I get one of those shirts? ;-)

Yup! Only qualifier for the "Queen of Planks" Club is you have to complete a 5 minute plank, any style. If that is you in your avatar, I'm guessing this is child's play for you

I finally did my first set of 200 crunchs(8 sets x 25). The sad thing is I'm going to be sore tomorrow. Maybe that's a good thing, I guess it means I'm working muscles that need some work.

I threw in a plank just for fun.

We are in the middle of blizzard here! It's freaking April. Enough already.

I do feel bad for you. I spent 22 years in Wisconsin and grew up in Menomonie, so I know the pain. Fortunately I am enjoying the Hawaii weather. Except its been raining a lot and there ia quite a bit of Vog in the air.

Scot, that stinks! The weather, I mean. Good job on the crunches!! That's one heck of a workout on those abs. Vitamin "I" is the only thing that might help tomorrow. (Ibuprofin)

Kurtiskaun, I lived in Menomonie for a spell. Born in Janesville. What is "Vog"?

I grew up in Saskatchewan, so let's not even talk about the weather. ;-)

I have gotten two really good sessions in so far, I'm not too sore but I do a LOT of yoga so I think I'm pretty strong in my core anyway. I'd like to define it more, though ... ;-)

That kinda interesting. I lived my first 18 years there in Menomonie starting from 1979, then headed to Marquette University. And the Navy has brought me to Hawaii and I've been loving it since.

So Vog is kinda like fog, kinda like the air in LA, but its not caused by cars, its caused by the volcano on the big island. Right now its spewing out sulfur gases into the air, so Hawaii looks a lot like LA.

How does this points thing work again? Do I set new goals for this week? I'm assuming the week starts on Sunday?

How did everyone else do this week?

Well I believe we decided that we're doing it the percentage way ... you divide your workouts done by workouts planned ... so I only got in 2 of my planned 3 - I get 66%. If I'd gone 3 for 3 - I'd get 100%.

Yup ... runs Mon-Sun ...

So ... I went 66% people ... that shouldn't be too hard to beat. ;-)

My goals for the upcoming week - 3 15-minute sessions.

Well, I got in 3 out of 6. That's 50% for me. Killer sinuses this weekend kept me out of commission. I'm shooting for the same goal this week 10 min 6x this week.

Good work everyone ... remember let's focus on the workouts we DID do - and not worry about the ones we didn't get in. ;-)

I'll keep my goal the same. 200 crunches 3 times a week. This time I'm going to make it.

Well I think I was able to do 1 workout out of 7 last week. That's me, always setting my goals too high. Oh well, moving on. This week my goal is 200 crunches 3x a week. Did my first set today, so two more.

Is it too late to get in on this challenge? I just saw this thread tonight. If so, I'd try 3x15min/week.

  • ..

  • (um...what workouts are people doing for 15 minutes three times a week? that's a lot of crunches!)

I'm counting core workouts, too. And don't forget the obliques! You could get out the FB and do some crunches, planks. You could utilize a DB and do some jacknifes. What about the cable machine and woodcutters? I also like to do russian twists with a 12 lb medicine ball. Just some suggestions....

x2 ... russian twists are my fave ... and there's so many things you can do with a medicine ball!

    Welcome!

I got in a killer 15-min workout today ... how's everyone else doing?
