I'll be in the pool either first thing in the morning, or at lunch. Shooting for 2000 yds. I swim TT and a weekend day. I'll probably try to go for 2000 on weekdays and 2500 on weekends. I, too, swim in molasses

I have a 2500 yd swim on the schedule for early AM.
Its actually my 1st swim in a pool since June. I've been spoiled with open water lake swims until the water temp hit 50' last weekend. So I'm whimping out and heading back to the HEATED pool.

Usually I like to swim in the mornings, but the mornings have been in the low-mid 30's (°F) lately so I've been wimping out (I'm such a desert rat that prefers summer).  I try to go in the evenings, but usually get stuck at work late.  This is going to have to change for the challenge.  Friday is my first scheduled swim for the week.  Shooting for 2200 yds that day.

Thar be a bilge rat in our midst!

This be the SouthWEST/WEST coast swabbie...go play with the Florida oranges and the Georgia peaches.

Frozen?  Blizzard?  HA!  I can count on me hooked hand the number of times snow has hit the Tucson valley.  Snow don't exist here.  Thy powers be useless.

Now, best move on or ye be walkin' the plank!

Dang Chucky!

How am I going to keep up to you if you are blasting out that kind of yardage?

Guess I'll be swimming 8 days a week....

Holy cow!  5k in a single workout?  That's awesome.  That would take me all day to swim.   You show that Ricci!

Got back in the pool today and logged 2250 yds.  If there's one thing I've learned from these challenges is that I've got to get my workouts in when I'm good and healthy and not slack off.  That way I'll have yds stacked up in case I get sick (which I WON'T).

And so it has begun!

Here's how the reporting of totals will work:  I currently have your blogs linked in my training blog.  On Sunday evening of each week I'll go through your blogs and collect all of the swim totals for the week and e-mail them to Renee.  (Be sure your blogs are updated by Sunday.)  I'll also post what I sent for the week in this thread, just so we can double check and make sure it's accurate, as well as congratulate ourselves on a job well done.

Reporting dates are:

  • Sunday - 12/11
  • Sunday - 12/18
  • Sunday - 12/25
  • Saturday - 12/31

That's pretty much it!  So no need to worry about PMing or e-mailing me your swim totals.

And on a related note, I'm back in the pool this afternoon, and hoping to get another 6K in this week!

Hey guys!!  Whoohoo! I"m aboard mates, HAR-HAR!  Hope I can choke down 24,000 yds between now and the end of the month. Lets kick some butt!

This should give me the boost I need for official Xterra training that begins in Jan.

Friday will be my last swim for the week, so I'm still on track.  Swimming is the only thing I'm keeping up with right now thanks to the challenge.  Can't let my team down!

With tomorrows swim workout, I'm on target. Hanging on by a thread though, because I'm a verrrrry reluctant swimmer. The challenge is totally helping me.

What can I say, I'm having a dog kind of week. Frown hit the pool today at lunch to see how my elbow is fairing.  Not going to get the yards in that I wanted this week, but there is still a few weeks to go.  Least I can still run.

Alright,

It was a tough staret ot eh month at work.  Taking too much time and hurting the training in all aspects.  So I needed the inspiration, Thanks Elaine and Dana.  I got in the pool last night and I will be pushing to new limits.  Need the base for Wildlfower.

I'm back,
Jason
