I'm in and am going to set my goal conservatively at 50. I've been swimming masters this year and love it. My plan is to ride to masters, then to work but I need to see how it goes a few times first. If it's ok (I'll probably have to leave at 5:45), I'll up the goal.

My commute is about 35 miles round trip and this will be my 3'rd year commuting (albeit a little late this year) and I save about $5-$6 per day I ride. Ironically, I started one month before gas prices went sky high.

I had planned on starting (again) this Wed.

you are a comlete animal...sure you do not want to hit the gym on the way home!

I'm in....say 75! we bike all over the place....thanks for setting this up....are you going to have a spreadsheet for us...or are we to just keep track ourselves?

funny! I would rather be doing anything outside then going to a gym...but dang...you seem to have sooo much energy with riding to your masters swim class, then to work....with a 35 mile round trip! YOU BE AN ANIMAL CHICKY!!!

Well 6 days into May and 2 commutes down so far. That's not bad, I think I set myself the target of 20 so fingers crossed I'll get there.

I'm riding a Edinburgh Cycles Hybrid - no picture but it's a bog standard cheapish hybrid.

I was glad to be on the bike tonight 'cause an articulated lorry managed to run into a bridge and the cars were backed up for miles. I was able to zip past and get on my way.

Wussed out because of the rain today.  Contemplating doing it tomorrow even though I have to fast for blood work and then ride right after blood is withdrawn - Maybe take a smoothie with me to eat as soon as they are done?

Anyone have any experience in this area?

I've played broomball a few hours after donating.  Definitely affected my stamina.  Given the length of your commute home (and if I recall it also includes some uphill sections) - I'd say give it a pass or be prepared to take it a lot easier...

Might have to up my goal to 30 - think my math was wrong when I picked 22 (even with holidays worked into it).  Will let you know.

These gas prices are disgusting - 3.83 this morning!  Lovely!

If my math is correct (and ignoring any currency conversion as our $ are almost on par) we're paying $4.73 per US gallon.  ($1.25 per liter).

That hurts just looking at it!  And you are right we are on par (at least recently) with the $.

But our hockey teams are better than yours - even though they all have great canadian players on them.  (This was a joke please don't put a hit out on me canadian hockey fans!)

Hmm true - it has been a long time since Stanley stayed with a team on our side of the border.  In World Hockey though...

Yesterday morning, I sat on my sofa and just starred at the weather forcast trying to figure out if I could beat the rain. I decided to go back to bed instead. Turns out I woulda got soaked. This morning, I went through the same routine, but I got on my bike and only suffered a little mist.

This is my 5th of the year and 4'th this month. BUT, 2 this month I didn't ride home. My goals are 60 for the year and 40 for May-Sept, so I'm 4/60 & 3/40.  I'm relieved of pre-school duties, so I've got more opportunities now and will have even more in June when regular school lets out.
