My plan to lose this weight:

1.  Log everything I eat. (on paper, not here)

2. Stop eating junk in the evening.

3. Bring all my food for the day to work and stop eating the humungous cafeteria muffins!!

I did really well, ate the right foods and kept calorie intake to a reasonable number, even started my 12 week training program to my next tri.  Hopefully this challenge will help me stay consistent....

Hey there everyone, you can call me pokey from here on out, I'm at 162lbs. as of yesterday and my goal is to lose 12lbs. My plan is to cut calories, I'm going to try and stay around 1500-1700 a day, while training for a triathlon in September

So far, so good. My husband and I went out for margaritas and mexican food on Friday night and I told him I was done with that for the next month. Had over half of my 9 year old son's baseball team over for hot dogs on Saturday after their tournament but got some extra exercise getting in the pool with them and playing keep away (my husband and I vs the boys). Then I forced myself to get to the gym yesterday right after baseball because I knew if I waited until the evening, it wasn't going to happen.

My hardest time is when I get home from work. I head straight for the pantry for something crunchy and salty. If I take the time to go and change my clothes, and find something else to do, I'm okay. I can pass up the sweets, but not the chips.

My goal is to keep up with my training as planned, try to keep well hydrated, and count my calories, etc.

Do we need to come up with a team name? If we need to, we can set additional goals for each week in terms of training, or whatever else, if it will keep us all motivated.

I know we can all do this!!!

One of my vendors was just KIND enough to bring me, not one, but two cakes, a red velvet cake and an Italian creme cake. I know I said earlier that I could pass on the sweets but I LOVE Italian creme cake. I thought about having just a little piece but I looked one serving (1/6 of a round cake) is 700 CALORIES. So, I took both cakes to the snack bar with the seal unbroken and I'm off to pop me a single serve bag of kettle corn. Whew!!

Good job, I don't know if I could have passed up my favorite cake. Sunday, after a week of doing really well, I ate a ton of calories after I got off work(there was a bunch of left over junk food from my sisters' camping trip and I couldn't resist) . But today and yesterday I've done really well.

I am really happy that my B-Day was May 31st!! I ate like a pig and of course none of it was good for me; good to eat but not for the waist. Unfortunately I weighed in before I went out so right now I guess that I am probably up 2. I guess this means that I will be in the gym more this week than I thought. UGH!!!!!!

So far so good.

Yesterday not so good cos too many cookies after the tri - I was only the bike bit of a sprint relay but racing seems to be the green flag for eating the goodies afterwards!

Today I have been shopping and my house is full of great looking fresh and healthy food. I am quite excited about this.   If I focus on calories I become obsessed with food so my rules are

(1) No eating after 9pm

(2) No desserts, snacking etc except for fruit and yoghurt

Good luck everyone

Yeah, no eating after 9pm is a good one. My rule is actually no eating after 7pm. I heard that if you are hitting a plateau (which I have been for the last few weeks) you should not eat for 4hrs prior to going to bed. I have found that really works but it is really tough for me. So I'll report on that daily and you guys can hold me accountable to that.

My caloric goal is to net 1000-1100 calories meaning if I burn 600 calories then I want to eat 1600-1700 calories. I find the net caloric intake is a better tool when working out as much as we do. So on my off days I try to only eat 1200 calories and then maybe take a short walk with my son. Not sure if you guys have ever used Sparkpeople.com but it is a great website for tracking calories eaten and burned to get that net caloric intake figured out.

I had a great day Sunday and yesterday - no eating after 7pm and good caloric intake with hardly any bad calories. But I'm not doing so good today. My internet is still having problems so I had to go out and find a hotspot so I could work. I'm really gonna have to work out today to make up for the hotspot being at Panera. I feel guilty using someone's internet access without buying their food

So no more food for me today except water, veggies, and fruit. Guess I'll be doing the eat like a queen for breakfast, and like a pauper for the rest of the day rule today.

So what is everyone's workout plan. I was trying to do the 3x balanced but as a full-time working mom I just can't get in 9 workouts a week. So I've switched to the 16 week 2x balanced plan.
Mon-off
Tues-swim
Wed - off
Thurs - bike
Fri- run
Sat - swim/bike
Sun - run
My off days are probably too close together but those are the days I have to go in to the office to work and I can't see taking my kid to the gym daycare after being in daycare all day and I treat myself to lunch with my work friends on those days so I can't workout at lunch like I do every other day. So anyway, it isn't perfect but I did this plan last spring and it worked really well for me. I like doing my bricks on Saturdays.
I did just cut my hair really short. I don't know why but for me having short hair makes getting my workouts in easier because I'm not always worried about my hair. It's a girl thing- I know

Hi there - I don't have you on the team lists for this month. Maybe you can join us next month? I think we'll have enough interest to do it again in July.

You're just used to the overly active chatty Cathy's in the TNT thread! I think THIS thread is more the norm for BT!

It is fairly quiet in here. Hope everyone is doing OK.

I have a problem trying to get all my workouts in as well per my training plan. I'm doing the 12 week Sprint HR plan which is 3x week. Today I'm scheduled to swim 2200y in 40 minutes and then run 45 minutes. I don't even understand the scheduled time for the swim since that would be at a 1.5 minutes per 100 yard pace without any of the rest times factored in. That isn't going to happen. Ate a 1/2 peanut butter and honey sandwich on whole wheat bread when I got home which tasted great. Now I'm off to see what I can get done.
