Subject: RE: Best Boston QualifiersLazyMarathoner - 2008-09-10 4:57 PM Are there any thoughts on which marathons are the best for qualifying for Boston? I'm assuming the flatter courses work well and those with manageable crowds to navigate. I've done Chicago, for example, which is nice and flat, but it's so crowded at the start that keeping up a strong pace is challenging. And before anyone says "the one you train appropriately for," let's assume the training is a given. I'm just curious if there are races known to be particularly good for getting a BQ time. Every year Runner’s world does a Boston special edition. It has all sorts of interesting facts in it. Believe it or not the race that has the most qualifiers was the Bay State marathon. I don’t have the exact numbers because I am traveling right now but if you went online somewhere I am sure that it is listed. Also look at Philly, Detroit and California International. |
