I have never made either. I have two old recipes to follow, I need to decipher pounds to kgs and ounces to grams! I hope to get both done this weekend. As well as painting our bedroom ... ! I dont think Ive ever made either... I Was never really into either so I havent bothered... Actually I remember making puddings with my Grandma when I wa in primary school - it was a BIG project and then they would hang in the garage to age or something... If anyone wants one this chrissie they can make it!!! Yeah it sounds like a lot of work!!! The pudding has to be made 4-5 weeks ahead of time and stored to age. The cake isn't so important to age apparently. We'll see what gets done this weekend! I might take some photos if I remember Good Luck! I have bought one actually in the past that was REALLY good... wish I could remember what it was I think it was from something like 'The Pudding LAdy' and it saved me the job... Last year I did SO much from scratch.. this year Im trying to workout what the essentails are and what I can take shortcuts with... Ive already found a fair few shortcuts I can take That sounds like a great idea. Apparently the "Lions" Christmas Cake that you can buy from National Australia Bank is really good. I guess I just want to make everything from scratch because I have never done it before and I want to do it properly. Next year I'll definitely be taking some shortcuts LOL! I think I'll be getting my turkey from Lennards. A client told me this morning that they are prepared marinated and stuffed, you just have to chuck them in the oven. Well, maybe not chuck. Place gently??? |
