Just need to vent I promise it will be quick....On Saturday I attached race number 147 to bike, then attached race number to belt proceeded to body marking and last stop timing chip.  What, no #147 chip!  Yep the reassigned me another number and handed me new race bib and number for bike @ 6:50AM!!  Well let's just say my new number didn't make it back to transition...so just checked results and swim time off by 6 minutes!  They never entered what wave I swam in!!  Thanks guys for letting me vent!!!!Cry

Ah yes, this is the mess that is always Catfish.  Laughing

It's always disorganized with a bunch of screwups, but it's such a fun little race.  Definitely a guilty pleasure to endulge in inspite of it's problems.  Tongue out

Sorry to hear about the number switch...if you email them, the should update it.  As an FYI, they posted the results from the "other" race and NONE of the waves had their times correct, so all the woman were 3-6 minutes faster then the men

They are more laid back then the other group, but I've had so many problems with them, I've stopped doing the races.  Their first race last year at Pinchot, they didn't expect many people to show up.  It was chaos trying to get setup and get your chip as 50+ people signed up that day.

At Harrisburg last year, my fiance asked Chad (the race director) a legitimate question and he just gave an arrogant/disrespectful answer.  I thought they had great race support (volunteers and police), but found out it was the community and no the organization that does it.

early morning post..I should make it clear that I've had nothing but great experiences with TriCat Sports...the issues are with the other group that runs the same courses.

Plus, correct me if I'm wrong, but Tricat is slightly cheaper and the money also goes to charity...it was a no-brainer for me when I decided who to go with.

Send an email to Erin. I don't know if I did an event that didn't have some mix up.

I was lucky, because when I checked the results on the wall on Sunday I was listed as 4th in my AG. I thought, "Damn, so close..." I stayed for the awards anyway, I always do. But when they announced my AG, they mispronounced MY last name for 3rd place (my name is always mispronounced so I'm not busting on anyone, it's an ongoing joke for me.) It wasn't until a friend of mine shouted, "It's MIS-TISH-EN!" that my head shot up. I wasn't sure what was going on, but I found out that one of the top 3 finishers in my AG was actually in a different AG, but it didn't get changed by the timekeeper. So this was the first time I placed in a multisport event. Still flabbergassed about it. I even emailed erin about it since I was still listed as 4th in the AG, just to be sure, since I don't want an award I didn't earn. She explained the mistake, and I get to keep my medal.

To be honest, I ALMOST got a medal for my first multisport event, last year, Pinchot Du sponsored by Multisport Maniacs. I was listed on the wall as 4th place in my AG (again), but do to a birthdate thing, the person who got first in the AG got bumped to the next AG, or something like that, and officially I got 3rd place, but somebody else got the medal. Oh, well.

By the way, I wish you would have introduced yourself. I like to see who some of the BTers are. I did meet Sipe, who is also local.

I didn't read the book but I really hope to put up a decent fight with my $250 Schwinn.  I looked at some of last year's times though.  Whew, some of those guys were flying.  I'm thinking of carrying 25lb weights in a backpack while I train so I can fell light when I have to ride the course.
