Well living in the Mojave I've cycled in 111, and ran at 103; both are my limits or close to it.   You basically have to hydrate like crazy and not go too far.

For the bike, 111 heat feels like you are cycling into a blow dryer and get no relief from the wind you create, the water you drink is so hot its nasty, but oh does that post ride water shower feel good!

I must be the big wimp -compared to most of you guys - my limit is about 90 degrees.  I do most of my outdoor workouts in the morning so its not too bad (usually in the 70s then).  I wonder how big an effect humidity has in addition to temp.  It may not get that hot here (compared to those 100+ temps) but gosh is it muggy -- dripping sweat after only 10 minutes.  I love the heat, but not for running.

95+ is my limit for outdoor training.  I hit the pool at that point - but luckily aside from this incredibly heinous week of excessive heat it doesn't reach 95 too often here. Anything above 85 and i'm pretty grumpy. I'm a total heat wimp.

I don't know how hot is too hot since it's never been too hot where I live. Last year I purposely ran when it got up to 100 here since it only does that about once every 10-20 years. It wasn't that bad and I ran about 8 miles.

I suppose it would depend on what kind of workout you were doing. A 15-20 mile ride or 4-8 mile run would likely be OK, but anything really long might be a sufferfest.

There is not a too hot for me. I did an hour long run a couple days ago and we had a record heat...it was probably about 113-114 when I went out...around 6pm...there was a heat advisory out for that day...I say efff it I gotta train.

It's funny because 100 degrees is considered cool here is AZ...I take the appropriate precautions of course, lots of water and I soak my shirt and hat in ice water right before I run...and I run pretty slow when its that hot.

I enjoy the heat, and my body likes it too...I hate the cold...I get these weird head cold things when I run, my ears hurt uh not fun.

I start taking it easy  between 103' to 105'.

The highest I worked out in was 113', I almost got in trouble with that one.

I don't know if this is scientifically true, but I think that hydration is harder for people not used to the temp.

I first moved to the desert in August.

I tried to be good with hydration, but my body did not retain the water well... I would just drink, pee, apply chapstick, repeat.

After a few months, I was fine.

Like Aikidoman said, if we used the 100 degree mark here in Vegas, we would never get out.  Even up to 107 is not too bad once you are used to it.  But when it gets over the 115 mark it feels like moving in a blast furnace.........  But it is a dry heat, right.

I definitely avoid training in 100+ temps. This week our heatwave has broken and 96-100 actual felt like spring (how quickly we acclimate to those sick high temps). I might ride my bike in it but definitely still wouldn't run. Tonight when I ran it was still in the 90's but it was nearly 7p.m. with a nice breeze, so it wasn't the same as when the sun is high in the sky. The one plus about the desert is that in the summer evenings we usually get a breeze and things cool down.  Since I have a job I only really have the early mornings and eves. to train anyway. On the weekends, I usually try to get out on my bike at 7 a.m. to beat the heat and the traffic, then I'll run in the evenings. For now, my races will start and finish before the sun is too high, so I don't see a need to get used to training in the sun.

When it starts to get around 110 I'll start to have problems. Otherwise I just have to make sure I drink a lot more, before, during and after. Had a few weeks there where every Thursday for my tempo runs the 'feels like' temp was 103-107 when I would start my run. Wasn't too bad, just had to go a bit slower.

Have trained in Greece quite a few time with temps well into the 100s and have race at same, so no upper temp for me yet
