My 4th is interval training which for me includes some hill work and speed work. I better get cracking but I am on a recovery day today.

doctorbob18 - 2009-08-03 9:06 PM

I know they are brutal and its alot of pain, but for some reason I love hill repeats on the bike! Same thing with anaerobic intervals on the track for running.

There are times that I consider all workouts brutal......  Lately I have been training with one of the officers from my unit.  He likes 30+ minute swims imediatly followed by 50+ minute runs.  That combination while tryng to keep him within sight has become my brutal workout lately.  It kicks my rear every time, but in a twisted sense I enjoy it at the same time.

I did a short bike today...still working on getting used to the aero position for extended periods of time...I have to pop up every now and then....my neck is slowly getting used to it...somewhat...I'm going to do some hardcore days in Victoria...I'm excited for that!

did a bunch of push ups yesterday...my pecs and triceps are less than pleased...

Trying to get motivation to run!!! Running is for sure my weakest and less liked discipline of the 3....I'm working on my mental attitude about this...

I did more than 20 minutes of continuous pulling in the pool.  The water was gross. Warm and a bit cloudy.  Blech!

You will enjoy seeing your competition fade and fall behind on the hills at your next race .  Keep them coming , Hills are your friend .

Hey Team!

Sorry I've been MIA; I've worked up my goals and will get them posted today.

Unfortunately, I might already be hurt. I went for a run and half a mile in my left foot hurt excruciatingly. I had to stop and hobble back to the house. It's still extremely painful if I put any weight on the outside of my foot; if I walk on the inside, it barely hurts at all. But there's no swelling that I can see, and no bruising. Maybe (hopefully!) it'll just go away?

Oh, ha. I suppose instead of just whining, I could introduce myself!

My name's Kristina - I started running in June, and biking in July, and I'm hoping that this challenge will encourage me to incorporate the two, since I seem to switch back and forth but never do both consistently. Live in Fairbanks, Alaska, work at a small nonprofit, and I'm single. And Team Thunderbird is fine by me!

I just signed up for another sprint tri for this weekend. I was disappointed that the tri on Sunday became a du but we can't control the weather.

Howdy, howdy!

I just woke up from a nice long nap! mmmm....I love days when I get to take a nap.  I'm getting ready to go run a big pile of errands and hope that in the meantime the weather clears up a bit.  We just had huge storms rumble through - big gusts of wind and sheets of rain.  I checked the website for the local paper and it would seem that the storm did some big damage.  Trees and powerlines down all over the place!

Anyhow...I have a 4-5 mile run planned for the evening.  Cross your fingers for clearer weather so I don't have to run on the treadmill!
