Does your SO get Bike Porn? (Page 2)

No, not at all.  He can't see the difference between my tri bike and my road bike or see the point.  He says it is all just a money making scam and why can't I ride the same bike in all the races?  I desperately want to up grade my road bike but it is unlikely to happen.  I also want a Mnt Bike, but at least he can sort of see the point to that.  He says he might even be tempted to ride one of those......

I worked in a bike shop when I met my wife. I owned a couple bikes at the time. She doesn't necessarily "get it" but I don't get the sarcastic comments either. She knew what she was getting into when she married me. On the other hand I know she would get annoyed fast if I was constantly talking bikes with her so I don't bore her with shop talk or try and show her the current bike infatuation. She did get bored when we would be out with friends because most of our close friends are cyclists or one part of the couple is a cyclist. The conversation almost always turned to bikes/riding at some point. Luckily a couple of the spouses are not cyclists and they would have their own conversation. As we've gotten older and kids entered the picture the conversation turns to bikes less often.

They only time I get crap is when I bring home another trashed picked project bike. I've got 2 that I haven't started yet. One that's finished and one that was finished but I robbed a wheel off for something else.

My husband is looking for a bike right now so he gets it more than I do.

My wife doesn't really know anything about bikes, but she's got a good eye.   So, when I see a particularly attractive bike, I'll slide the laptop over so she can see it.  

So, she "gets it," but not really for the same reason.

Sure my wife gets bike porn!  Dropping thousands on a ride typically means wanting to ride it more.  Which typically means getting into better shape.  Which typically means getting leaner and more fit.  Which typically means looking better - much better.

And then you have husband porn!

Oh yeah.  My wife gets it and encourages it!
