1. Foam roller- Has helped me a lot with recovery.
2. BeIronFit book- Helped me to understand how to train.
3. Bungee/speed laces- Helps with faster T1 and T2.

I know a lot of people like bodyglide so I bought some over a year ago but I still have never used it. I have never had any chafing issues before.

tcovert - 2009-09-10 4:49 PM Transition bag...I've got the TYR bag and I love it (a lot more than the duffel bag I was using before that)...cost me like $55.  That's a lot cheaper than a Garmin 305.

x2. Although I got a deal on the Zipp bag, and it's awesome to be able to carry your whole race worth of gear on your back.

I agree with much of the above (except the Garmin -- I had one and liked it a lot while I had it; it died; I don't miss it).

One recent (and inexpensive) purchase that has turned out to be super-nice is a gel bottle. It is sooooo nice not to get sticky hands every time I eat on the bike, and no wrappers to deal with.

I have to agree about the gel bottle. I like to mix my gel 4/1 gel to water to help to get it down. I can also keep and extra bottle in my jersey pocket on longer rides or on a run.
