Hershey Half Marathon - Sunday, October 3rd (Page 2)

This was a really fun race!  I hope they don't let it get too big in the future, though.  It was the perfect size just the way it was.

It was a great race.  There were a great number of volunteers and crowd support along the way.  The wind made it tough, but I really enjoyed the route and the scenery in general.

I enjoyed it, too!  It seemed very well organized, plenty of volunteers and lots of support!  We  (my wife, and our neighbors) all had a great time!  I finished in 2:05.41 (my unofficial Garmin time) and, if you were around then, my running partner and I were sprinting to the finish for the last 100 yards or so trying to beat each other.  The crown seemed to enjoy it!  Also, all my pain went away while I was sprinting and laughing my butt off...of course it came back shortly after the finish.  Definitely worth it!!

Wow Ferret, if you saw someone wearing a royal blue skull cap right in front of you, that was me and a friend of mine.  We crossed at 2.03.48 and 2.03.49.  Gun time was 2.05 something.  I was very happy with my run but I didn't hit my 1.59 mark I set as a goal.  I ran my first half marathon in May and it was a 2.26 so I'll take the 23 min and be very happy in the name of weight loss and progress. 

This event was much smaller than my first half marathon but I was extremely impressed with how awesome the volunteers were.  Everything was very organized, the weather was almost perfect (wind and I don't mix) and everyone was friendly.  The finisher medal was really cool too.
